Do you see an even or an odd number of pancakes in the picture?  Explain your thinking-how do you know?

  • Today’s number is 161.  How many hundreds are in 161?
  • Is it an odd number or an even number (remember to look at the last digit in the number--if it is even, the whole number is even, if the last digit is odd, the whole number is odd)?

You have 9 coins in your pocket, and you notice that they add to 161¢.  What coins could they be?

What is 161¢ in dollar and cent notation? __________
