This Week We…

Math:

-Continued Module 3: lessons 3 & 4.

ELA: 

-Took the Unit 5 Test.

-Continued our Small Moment Stories Unit.

Social Studies: Began our Indigenous Studies Unit & learned about Veterans Day.

SEL, DIVE & Classroom Expectations

-continued our Second Step lessons in our classrooms

-practiced our classroom agreements/promises

-reviewed and practiced expectations from our DIVE matrix

-practiced routines and procedures in our classroom

-Practiced the 8 Habits of happy kids

JEDI:  We will continue JEDI lessons in January

Next Week We Will…

Math:

-Continue Module 3: lessons 5-9.

-Read the Eureka Family Math letters that come home in the HLO when you see them. They will help you assist your first grader at home with their math thinking/problem solving!

ELA: 

-Review everything we have learned in Fundations so far this year leading up to Winter Break: digraphs, bonus letters & glued sounds.

-Wrap up our Small Moment Stories Unit.

Social Studies: Continue our Indigenous Studies Unit.

PLEASE HELP YOUR KIDDO AT HOME!

Let’s learn to tie our shoes! CLICK HERE to watch the Kidsplainer tutorial video & practice this skill at home so your kiddo can be a shoe tier at school, yay!

Announcements and Reminders

-Make sure your kiddo is wearing clothes and outerwear (that is appropriate in the classroom) that aligns with our dress code (click to view) expectations

-We are a NUT FREE school

-No candy in lunches or snack

-Water only in water bottles (secure, spill-proof lids)

-Send in a wholesome, filling snack and lunch each day- no food is provided to students at school

-Orange folders travel back and forth from school to home daily. Please help your kiddo empty them out daily

-Engage with any emails sent to you from your kiddo’s teacher & from the school

11/14: Lower School Showcase (formally known as Open House) @5:30-6:30

11/17: Quarter 2 Progress Report comes home
