Vision and Purpose

The vision on days when school is canceled due to inclement weather, students and teachers will utilize developmentally appropriate resources to engage in E learning as it relates to current curriculum goals and skills.  

Pepin Area Schools will implement E learning days after the first two school cancellations on which school has been closed due to an emergency or weather.  

Teachers

4K-6 Grade levels

7-12 Subject Areas

4K- 12 Title/EEN

On an Elearning Day, teachers will:

• Post learning goals, provide activity directions, 4K-2 (Blizzard Bags) reminders on their SeeSaw, Google Classrooms, by 9:00 a.m.
• Monitor emails and other digital communications to answer questions and provide feedback to students and parents between 9:00 and 3:00.
• Teachers may provide an optional whole group connection opportunity at a predetermined time

Prior to event, teachers will:

• Design E Learning activities that include options for students using the internet and those who use Blizzard Bags.
• Communicate activity guidelines and expectations for E Learning day activities to students and parents.

Students

On an E learning day, students will:

• Complete E learning assignments
• Participate in E learning activities
• Return assignments the next day, two days grace will be provided to those who have accessibility issues with internet
• Use their devices safely and responsibly

In advance, students will:

• Know where to access assignments  and be prepared to complete E learning day activities.

Parents

On and E learning day, parents can help in this way:

• Monitor student progress on activities, as appropriate
• Communicate questions to teachers as they arise

Guidelines

E learning day activities will:

• Have activities that are best suited to the resources available
• Be sent home in advance of the required days and will provide an extension of two days as needed for completion of assigned E learning assignments/activities

Communication

Communication on E learning Days will:

• Include an email, text, phone call and Facebook notification from Mr. Quinton
• Will also include information shared by teachers with students.
