Learners will explore and identify real-world problems involving money.

  • Watch a teacher-created video to learn the background information.
  • Small group collaboration - find a solution to the problem stated in the video.
  • Answer questions during video using EdPuzzle.
  • Reflective journaling about the steps taken by the group to find the solution to the problem.

Integration:

Learners will analyze the cost of real-world items at various stores to determine their needs and wants.

  • Visit online websites to research prices of items students would purchase within their budget.
  • Small group discussion about types of purchases (needs or wants) and if they fit in their budget.
  • Students share their decisions on items within their budget in Google Classroom discussion
  • One Minute paper

Human Dimension/Caring:

Learners will be able to work in collaborative groups and apply skills to extensive real-world problems.

  • Small group collaboration - student-created digital product to illustrate or explain the solution to the problem
