Highland Park Middle School 

7th Grade Science

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year here at Highland Park. This year will be filled with new experiences with your students, as well as some challenges. My hope is to work together to provide a great learning experience for each student. If you have questions, the best way to contact me is through email.

Progress Reports and Semester Report Cards will be sent to parents on:  November 3rd--First Quarter, February 2nd--First Semester, April 13th--Third Quarter, June 20th --Second Semester

Academic Learning Targets for 7th grade science. Targets are intended to clearly identify and align the expected learning.  These targets are consistent across all of the Beaverton middle schools. Science Inquiry and Engineering will be embedded within each content target.

Explanation of Learning Target Marks (All Rubrics will be on a 4 point scale):

                                        4 = Highly Proficient

                                        3 = Proficient

                                        2 = Nearing Proficiency

                                        1 = Working Toward Proficiency

                                        * = Not Assessed this marking period

Personal Management / Behavior Learning Targets.  All Beaverton middle school students will be assessed on how students can:  manage responsibilities, self-directed learning, and communicate and work effectively within a team or group.

 

Behavioral Learning Target Marks will be reported separately from academic learning targets using the following marks:

                                        C/I = Consistently/Independently

                                        G   = Generally

                                        R   = Rarely/Sometimes (Needs Improvement)
