2024 CARTHAGE FARMERS MARKET RULES & REGULATIONS

  1. Carthage Farmers Market is sponsored by HERE 4 Carthage, a 501(c)3.
  2. Vendors must have an approved application on file to participate.
  3. All products and produce must be made or grown by the vendor in MO. Exceptions to this rule are items that are not available locally, out of season, or there is not a vendor to sell those items at the market. Each instance must be approved by the Market Manager.
  4. Items that can be sold:
  1. MO grown items (i.e. fruits, nuts, & vegetables) This includes MO grown greenhouse products (ie. plants & flowers).
  2. Non-potentially hazardous processed foods (non-PHF)  (i.e. jelly, honey, baked goods, packaged spices, etc.) that the seller has prepared. Items must be properly labeled including the name and address of the producer/manufacturer who prepared the food, common name of the food, name of ingredients in the food in order of predominance, the net weight of the food in English or metric units, and a statement that the product is prepared in a kitchen that is not subject to inspection. Honey vendors also must include the statement “Honey is not recommended for infants less than twelve (12) months of age”.
  3. Potentially hazardous foods (i.e. meat, eggs, cheeses, fermented products, salsas, etc.) with up to date licensing.
  4. Homemade soaps, lotions, etc.
  5. MO handmade crafts, although produce vendors will be given first priority.
  1. Set-up requirements
  1. Be set-up by opening time of market (8am)
  2. Be fair concerning space. Allow other vendors space for selling.
  3. Generators must be approved by market management.
  4. After set-up, park vehicles away from the market.
  5. Keep pedestrian walkways open and accessible.
  6. Sell only to individuals on foot, no drive by selling.
  1. Vendors are responsible for keeping their areas neat and orderly. Vendors must specify if they have any special requirements.
  2. Vendors agree to:
  1. Follow the state and local laws applicable in the location(s) of their business and in the location of the Market.
  2. Hold the Market harmless for any damage or loss incurred while at the Market, at their business location(s) or for failure to comply with applicable state and local laws.
  3. Treat customers and other vendors with respect.
