Connecting to the JCPS BYOD Network
Using a Personal Chromebook
Opening Your Network Settings
- At the bottom right, select the time.
- Select Not Connected
.
Note: If you see your Wi-Fi network name and a signal strength, your Chromebook is already connected to Wi-Fi. - Turn on Wi-Fi.
- Your Chromebook will automatically look for available networks and show them to you in a list.
Connecting to the JCPS BYOD Network
- Select the “JCPS” Network.
- Click on the network to begin the join process.
- After selecting the “JCPS” network from either the login screen or the wireless icon in the tray, you will see the following window.

- From the EAP method drop-down, select the PEAP option if it is not already selected. The window should now look as below.
- Ensure that Server CA certificate is set to “Do not check”.

- Finally, scroll down and enter the Identity, which can be either your short user ID (e.g. jdoe1) or e-mail address, and Password.

- Click Connect and you should be connected to the BYOD network.
