Connecting to the JCPS BYOD Network

Using a Personal Chromebook

Opening Your Network Settings

  1. At the bottom right, select the time.
  2. Select Not Connected .
    Note: If you see your Wi-Fi network name and a signal strength, your Chromebook is already connected to Wi-Fi.
  3. Turn on Wi-Fi.
  4. Your Chromebook will automatically look for available networks and show them to you in a list.

Connecting to the JCPS BYOD Network

  1. Select the “JCPS” Network.
  2. Click on the network to begin the join process.
  3. After selecting the “JCPS” network from either the login screen or the wireless icon in the tray, you will see the following window.

 

  1. From the EAP method drop-down, select the PEAP option if it is not already selected.  The window should now look as below.

  1. Ensure that Server CA certificate is set to “Do not check”.  

 

 

  1. Finally, scroll down and enter the Identity, which can be either your short user ID (e.g. jdoe1) or e-mail address, and Password.

 

 

  1. Click Connect and you should be connected to the BYOD network.
