You must pre-register in SCOIR at least two days prior if you would like to attend any of these visits. Please check in with your teacher prior to attending the meeting. All visits will be held in the LGI unless otherwise noted. Any questions see Mrs. Keating in Room 218, suite 6.
SENIORS: It's finally time to vote on the Senior/Faculty Superlatives.
Submission starts today, November 1, 2024 and will end on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 -- NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

Model UN is hosting a dodgeball tournament on November 12th; located in the gymnasium from 3:00 to 5:30. Please sign up quickly, as we are only accepting the first 16 teams to sign up, with 6 people per team. Tickets are only $10.00 per person! ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: If you stay after school for an activity, club or sport, you must have a bus pass from your advisor, teacher or coach to ride the late bus. You will not be allowed on the late bus without a pass. The only reason any student should be on campus after 2:25 is if they are at a club meeting, activity or sport.

ATTENTION CLASS OF 2025 - SENIOR PORTRAITS ARE HAPPENING: Seniors, make sure you schedule your senior portrait. The dates that are left are: September 9-13, October 9-11, October 28 - November 1, and November 12-19. You will only be able to schedule for the dates of September 9 - 13. Do not miss out AND do not wait until the last minute to take your Senior Portrait, you may not get an appointment. If you don't take a senior portrait, you will not be in the Yearbook and you will not be able to submit a quote. ALL DATES ARE FINAL. YEARBOOK: The 2025 John Jay Patriot Yearbook is now on sale. To order your yearbook go to: Jostens John Jay. If you order your yearbook before October 25, 2024 with personalization, you can get up to 4 free icons. In order to ensure that we can add as much content and make it more valuable, yearbooks will not be delivered in the Spring but will be shipped individually in August to your home. When ordering a yearbook, please make sure your home address is correct.

Hello World! Computer Science Honor Society membership forms are due this week. We will also be meeting on Thursday 11/7 in Room 149. We will be practicing games and events for our upcoming event at the Middletown Mall. As always, food will be served!
Calling all chess players! Chess Club will be hosting a chess tournament on November 18th 2:30-3:30 in the LGI, all skill levels welcome! The tournament costs $12 and all section winners will be called back for a second round! Please fill out the form if you are interested in attending.

Interact and the Health and Med club are hosting a food drive for the Community Action Partnership for Dutchess County! Bring 2 items for 1 hour of service. Only until November 20th.
Girl up will be meeting Thursdays after school in room 220. New members are welcome!
Attention all boys or girls interested in trying out for Varsity Bowling. Registration is now open through ArbiterSports (formerly FamilyID). You must register and be approved in order to participate in tryouts. The last day to register is November 10th! Don't wait!

Health + Medicine Club:
Our next meeting will be held on TUESDAY, November 12th in the LGI. This will be a shared meeting with Interact where we will all be packaging activity kits for the children in the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital for the upcoming holidays. You will receive hours for bringing items in. This is a great way to make a difference. Look out for a sign up sheet!
John Jay High School will be hosting a districtwide ENL Resource Night to support our "English as a New Language" (ENL) families. This event is designed to provide valuable resources and support for both our primary and secondary ENL students and their families.

John Jay Cheer is headed to states!!! Join our send off this Saturday at 12:45 in the parking lot!!!
Last football games are this week- Varsity plays tomorrow at 5:30. We will have Dutchess dog House food truck there! JV plays Friday night lights at 5:30.
Congratulations to the JV cheer team wrapped up their successful Fall season with a win at the Somers Invitational on Saturday!
Congratulations to The Varsity Cheer team. They won the Class A Sectional Championships on Sunday at Arlington HS. The varsity team will Compete next Sunday at the NYSPHSAA Game Day Cheer State Championships at Hudson Valley Community College. Good Luck!!!!

JJ WRESTLING
JJ WRESTLING Open Mats are Back from OCT 8 to NOV 14: Anyone interested in Wrestling this year please attend OPEN mats in the JJ wrestling room.
OPEN MATS: Except for the days we are off from school, we will meet in the JJ wrestling room every TUESDAY evening from 6-7:30 pm and THURSDAY afternoon from 2:30-4 p.m. until November 14th. If you have any questions please email Coach Russo at anthony.russo@wcsdny.org.

The Boys Lacrosse Team
Is looking to fill a few positions on our team, in a non-playing capacity. We are interested in having 2 students learn and help us keep track of our sports book (statistics) on the sideline, as well as 2 students to help us take photo and video for the games. This position needs to be filled for both JV and Varsity. This would be for our upcoming 2025 Spring season. You would be a part of our team, travel with the team on the bus, and get a team shirt.
