(I)GCSE Provisional Results for 2021 - King George V School
We are pleased to announce our 2021 results for the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) examinations and its international equivalent the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE).
As a result of reforms to the GCSE grading system in the UK, some subject grades this year have been graded using the traditional A* to G system, others using the new 9 to 1 system. A grade 4 is broadly equivalent to a low grade C and a grade 8 or 9 is broadly equivalent to a grade A*.
There were a total of 246 examination entries in 2021 and the results were amongst KGV’s best ever with a mean grade point average (GPA) of 6.86 (6 is equivalent to a grade B). For the A* to G system, 68.7% of students were awarded A* or A grades and 96% were awarded A* to C. In the 9 to 1 system 67.7% of students were awarded level 9 to 7. An impressive 22 students achieved 9 or more A*/9 grades across their iGCSE subjects.
Congratulations to all of the students on such an impressive set of results and good luck in your new courses.
