Today is day 5

Lunch & Learn

Students will have the opportunity to connect with members of our community and learn about different career paths through our Lunch & Learn Program. We will be highlighting the following organizations over the next few weeks:

Wednesday, February 12th

Thursday, February 13th

Participants will be set up outside the cafeteria during all lunch periods (4-7) to answer any of your questions.

The MANDATORY Student Government Winter Carnival meeting will take place Tuesday 2/11 after school in room 226.

All clubs and activities that have a booth need to have a representative present. Important rules and procedural information will be given out. Thank you!

Winter Carnival Volunteers:

Parking reminder:  To all of our Seniors, please remember to only park in the white lined parking spots, the yellow spots are for our faculty/staff.  Thank you !

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: If you stay after school for an activity, club or sport, you must have a bus pass from your advisor, teacher or coach to ride the late bus. You will not be allowed on the late bus without a pass.   The only reason any student should be on campus after 2:25 is if they are at a club meeting, activity or sport.

YEARBOOK: The 2025 John Jay Patriot Yearbook is now on sale. To order your yearbook go to: Jostens John Jay. If you order your yearbook before October 25, 2024 with personalization, you can get up to 4 free icons. In order to ensure that we can add as much content and make it more valuable, yearbooks will not be delivered in the Spring but will be shipped individually in August to your home. When ordering a yearbook, please make sure your home address is correct.

Project Homework started as of  September 30th and will meet every Monday and Wednesday from 2:30 - 3:30 in room 198.  Students must sign in using the QR Code for each session they attend. Click on link for more information!  Project Homework Details

We have 1 Ag Issues Team and 1 member in Extemporaneous Speaking advancing to the Eastern SubState Competition in March at Schuylerville HS!!

GSA  club will be meeting every Wednesday upstairs in room 247 at 2:30. If you'd like to come visit, we watch movies, we do crafts or if you just need a space to be you please stop by.

The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is still recruiting new members, and we want YOU to join us! If you're interested in developing leadership skills, exploring business careers, and participating in exciting events and competitions, FBLA is the perfect opportunity for you.

We meet Tuesdays after school in Room 145. It's a great chance to learn more about what FBLA has to offer and how you can get involved.

SPORTS:

Congratulations to Peyton Kellam for receiving yet another award for NYVCA player of the year for Section One.

JJ WRESTLING:

The Patriots represented us well in the first round of the Wrestling postseason. At the Divisonals on Friday the following wrestlers placed:

1st place for Brandon DellaPia, Michael Mauro, and Chris Mollicone.

2nd Place: Christian Martino, Vincent Cantone, and Danny Morrison. and 4th Place: Joey Malgioglio.

These 7 wrestlers have advanced to the state qualifier on Tuesday, Feb 11th at the Westchester County Center. Best of luck!!

FUNDRAISING:

John Jay's Auto Build and Marketing classes are working hard to complete our group initiatives this year.  The car build is progressing quickly, and the marketing team is growing the auto racing brand efficiently.  This year, the car theme is mental health awareness.  The team voted and agreed to donate 10% of the proceeds to the Nuvance Health - Behavioral Health in Poughkeepsie. The student-created logo of mental health awareness is on all apparel offered in the store.

The Wappingers Crew Club will be hosting a pancake breakfast at Ketcham high school On Saturday, March 1 from 8:30 to 11:30 AM. The cost for adults is $12, seniors are $10, and children 10 and under are $5. If you’re looking for a delicious meal with friendly faces, come join us for breakfast and let’s wish winter goodbye!
