Spring 2019 Program Monday - Friday ~ March 6 - May 24, 2:45-5:00 pm

Our primary goal is to have children come to after-school programs. Please do not let the fee prevent you from enrolling your child/children.  Quality Programming for as low as $3.75 a day!

There are scholarships available please talk to Mrs. Erica Baker for more information.

Daily Schedule: includes snack, recess, enrichment activity and homework time.

These programs are funded in part through a
   Vermont Agency of Education 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant received in 2015.

Mondays

   Get up and Move

Leader: Ms. Lamson  

 ** For Grades K-1**

 Group limit: 15

This is a fun way to learn about nutrition and exercise. During this activity students will enjoy a book and will do arts and crafts. There will also be a dance to a song about nutrition and staying healthy.

VerMoney

Leader: Ms. Baranyay

 ** For Grades 2-6**

Group limit: 12

Like $$$? Learn the basics of money skills. Have fun while you maintain your own goodie bank each week; will you save, invest,
or spend? As a group you will learn how to start your
own business to share at the end of the session!
 This opportunity is brought to REACH! through a mini grant from the Vermont State Treasurer’s Office.

Tuesdays

Fairytale Fantasy

Leader: Ms. Lamson

   ** For Grades K-2** 

 Group limit: 12

We will read different versions of well-known fairy tales, learning the different parts and variations of a fairy tale. Then we will write and illustrate our own fairy tale! 


Spring Musical

Leader: Mr. Reed

& Mr. Loya

 ** For Grades 3-6**  

Group limit: 20

Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat, our narrator, tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child, who gets in trouble for thinking too many ‘thinks.’” (www.mtishows.com)

On Tuesdays you will be working on the music  and on Thursdays you will work on the speaking roles. Students who wish to be in the musical must sign up for both days and be available for extra practices the week of May 27th. Show dates will be Friday May 31st in the evening and Saturday during the day on June 1st.

Wednesdays

Rescue Rex 

Leader: Mrs Clark

***Open to Grades K-2*** Group Limit 12

Students will get to know Rescue Rex and the importance of calling 911. They will learn about different emergency personnel, about their vehicles and how they help the community.  

NEK Kids on the Move

Guest Leaders

   ** For Grades 3-6**  Group limit: 15

Students will get to try dance and Taekwondo in this session of NEK Kids on the Move. Taekwondo will start the session and then students will get to learn some dance moves.

Thursdays

 Finch Robots

Ms. Baranyay

 ** For Grades K - 2** Group limit: 15

Students will explore programming with Finch Robots, on loan to the HES Library for the Spring semester. Using the 4C’s - collaboration, creation, communication, and critical thinking, students will program their robots to do things such as move through a maze, dance, or act out a scene from a story. The possibilities are endless! Imagination encouraged!
