Sussex Downs College Eastbourne Join us for this therapeutic craft course and try your hand at creative collage and decoupage as a way of improving wellbeing. Every Monday 20th June to 11th July 10am to 1pm.

Sussex Downs College, Eastbourne-Mindfulness taster course. Try this taster course to learn some mindfulness practices to help manage stress, anxiety and low mood and enhance your general well-being

Eastbourne Age Concern: Walking for Wellness- Enjoy three invigorating circular walks along Eastbourne Seafront or at Hampden Park.The weekly walks for people over 50, take place as follows:

Walk 1 Seafront -Every Monday 10.30am to 12pm. Walk length 30 minutes.

Meet at The Lifeboat museum at 10.30am for an invigorating short walk of under a mile along the seafront. There  is the   option of a longer walk if you are keen.You are welcome to join the group for refreshments at The View Hotel afterwards.*Please note that there are no walks on Bank Holidays.

Walk 2 Seafront -Every Monday 10.30am to 12pm. Walk length 45-60 minutes. Meet at The Lifeboat museum at 10.30am for an invigorating longer walk along the seafront.This is the optional longer walk if you are a moderate walker.* Please note that there are no walks on Bank Holidays.

 

Walk 3 Hampden Park Every Wednesday 10.30am to 12pm. Walk length 45 Minutes.Meet at the Lakeside Tea Chalet at 10.30 for a walk of up to 1.5 miles around the park.The park has a lovely lake with plenty of wild birds.The group return to the Tea Chalet for refreshments.

Walk 4 Sovereign Harbour - Every Thursday starting 10.30am to 12pm. Walk length 60 Minutes.Meet outside the Bright Ideas shop at 10.30 am for a more vigorous circular walk of up to 3 miles around the harbour, marina and shoreline. Please note that there is some uneven ground. The group meet back at the harbour restaurant area for refreshments.

Health Walks- Walking is good for you, so why not try a Health Walk?A health walk is a short local walk led by a trained volunteer leader.The walks aim to promote and encourage walking in a safe and social way and normally last between 30-60 minutes. www.eastsussex.gov.uk/leisureandtourism/countryside/walks/walksdemo/healt

THIS GIRL CAN- This Girl Can is a celebration of active women who are doing their thing no matter how well they do it, how they look or even how red their face gets. Funded by The National Lottery and developed by Sport England, they want to help women overcome the fear of judgement that is stopping too many women and girls from joining in.

Walking Football Do you like Football; do you wish you could still play? Now you can… Shinewater Sports and Community Centre want to start a Walking Football Session, it is the same as 5 a side football with no running or jogging and is specifically aimed for the over 50’s. Age UK- The Healthy Living Club, run by Age UK East Sussex, provides support to people aged 50 or over who would like to improve their health – whether that is to become more active, make changes to have a healthier diet or to make new friends.The Healthy Living Club is a friendly, local club, providing a welcoming environment where you can get involved in fun activities and receive information and support on healthy living. The club is for you, with you giving suggestions on what activities you would like to do and the support you would like to receive to help you improve your health.

Eastbourne parkrun is a 5km run - it's you against the clock. Every Saturday at 9:00am.It's run in Shinewater Park, Eastbourne. It's free! but please register before your first run. Only ever register with parkrun once. run for your own enjoyment. Please come along and join in whatever your pace! It is entirely organised by volunteers.

Healthy cooking classes- Eastbourne has courses to help you learn to cook healthy meals on a budget. Look out for the current Street Learning Newsletter or find the programme on the Street Learning website.To find out more information contact Street Learning t: 01323 436436.Young people aged 13 to 21 can try Eastbourne and Wealden YMCA’s Fit and Funky sessions now running in Willingdon Trees, Devonshire and Langney.
