2021 Illinois State Senior Women’s Amateur Championship
Ladies,
Welcome! Pekin Country Club is excited to host the 52nd Illinois State Senior Women’s Amateur Championship in Pekin, Illinois. The PCC staff and our local committee have been working diligently to plan a great golf experience for all!
COVID guidelines will be followed. Please wear a mask inside the clubhouse unless you are eating and/or drinking.
Please review the player documents before play on Tuesday.
A few reminders:
- When you arrive on Monday, please proceed to the registration area inside of PCC to the Club Room which will be marked with signs. You will receive your bag tag and tee gift at that time. After placing your bag tag on your bag, you may drop your bag at the bag drop. All players are requested to keep their bag tags on their bag for the entire championship. PCC will be storing your bags and will place them on the carts daily.
- Registration will be open from 11-3 on Monday, September 13th. If you do not register in person you MUST register by phone by 3 p.m. on the Senior Am Registration Line – 815-200-9820. Failure to do so will result in you forfeiting your position to play. Please provide your preference for dinner at registration, (regular or vegan), if you are playing in the putting contest on Wednesday following play, and if you are staying for lunch on Thursday after play. The boxed lunch is included in the tournament entry fee. **Please note that PCC will not have food available on Monday so if you are playing your practice round you may want to bring a lunch or snack with you.
- If you register by phone, please go to the registration area before play on Tuesday to sign the players’ plaque and to pick up your tee gift.
- We have confirmed your handicap index, so there is no need to bring your card. If you would like to contribute to the IWGA Victory Fund, you can make your donation at registration.
- You must pay for all purchases at PCC by cash or credit card (PCC does not take Discover Card). Cash is the preferred method for drinks and food. Credit and debit cards will be accepted at the bar inside the club house.
- All clubs should be loaded on the carts by 7 a.m. The driving range will be open by 7 a.m. Please do not move your carts prior to the shotgun start. The putting green and practice bunker are located behind the club house. The driving range is located close to the cart staging areas. Range balls before play are included in your tournament entry fee. Range balls after play must be purchased from the pro shop for $5. PCC is renovating the driving range, and everyone must hit off the mats as Roundup has been applied to the tee box area.
- Tuesday night, September 14th, is our Annual Business meeting and banquet at Pekin Country Club. Cocktails (cash bar) will begin at 5:30 in the St. Andrews banquet room and the dinner will follow at 6:30 p.m. We will be honoring our IWGA Hall of Fame recipient Salley Wessels.
- Wednesday there will be a putting contest for charities following play – IWGA Victory Fund and TAILS will be the recipients. Drinks and grill items will be available for purchase.
- Thursday after play, you may pick up your boxed lunch in the Club Room while results are finalized. We have an efficient scoring system in place, so you can expect the results promptly following play.
We look forward to welcoming our returning contestants and our first-time contestants. We hope that you enjoy this year’s tournament and that you will invite your friends to join us in future championships!
