2018 US Universities Debating Championship | April 14-16, 2018
The reality of the hotel market close to the Stanford campus is that properties are expensive, relatively small, and that there is paucity of rooms available with two beds. The initial hotel deal we had to get everyone into one complex was unfortunately derailed by a construction project that has run behind schedule.
We’ve put together several separate hotel room blocks available for attendees at USUDC in order to try and keep total costs down for attendees; all are valid from Friday, April 13th to Monday, April 16th. Please select the best fit for your squad’s particular needs. If you would prefer the cheapest possible option, there are a large number of smaller properties spread out within a few miles along El Camino Real (in Palo Alto & Redwood City primarily) that will likely come in below the negotiated rates we were able to secure at the larger corporate properties, but we won’t be able to provide any transportation for any rooms outside of the blocks.

You can review the 2018 Stanford USUDC locations map to see the location of each property relative to campus, airports, etc. We ask that squads electing to rent cars stay at the Courtyard or Residence Inn properties with free parking since the Sheraton and Westin are closer to the actual competition site, which will speed up bus transfers. Squads may elect to stay near their arrival airport on Friday night and then check into the Sheraton on Saturday when additional rooms become available in the discounted room block.
Help us manage the blocks & plan accordingly!
Once you book your rooms, please fill out the 2018 USUDC Logistics form so that we are able to work on optimizing the remaining space, arranging appropriate transportation, allowing us to monitor flight delays etc!
If you encounter any difficulty in booking rooms at the properties listed above or are looking input on booking alternative accommodations, please email Director of Debate Rich Boltizar at email@example.com. Please direct any other tournament-related questions to the tournament-specific email address, firstname.lastname@example.org.
