2021 Board Meeting Work Plan
- Agenda Changes and Additions
- All funds from our PayPal account have been transferred and we should be positive for the Summer Conference.
- Ongoing Item: OR AAWCC Ambassadors Updates
- Suggestion to spotlight AAWCC Ambassadors at the Fall and Summer Conferences and to uplift them as a resource at the Conferences.
- ACTION: Alynson will Connect with Dr. Bennings about PCC sending 2 representatives from PCC, since Dr. B indicated she would select one applicant and an alternate.
- It would help to remind Presidents about OILD at the OPC Meeting in May, to get them fired up about it. ACTION: Donna will use connections with Jessica Howard and Lisa Avery, and will also bring it to this meeting.
- Kristina has emailed Presidents and Executive Assistants to promote OILD and she also forwarded that message to AAWCC Ambassadors. Information and applications will come into Amy. Deadline for nominations is May 15th. Colleges will be invoiced once they have submitted their nominations.
- Kristina and Amy are working on speakers and an overall schedule for the event. It would help for Kristina to know more about the new Presidents, so she knows more about their skills and strengths - Donna will be able to give insight on this.
- Kristina is still working on reminding folks about OILD and getting her name and word out there. Donna has offered to amplify and support with this and suggested that Kristina send the next OILD message as a reminder to the full OPC group, so Lisa, Donna and others can reply and apply some positive peer pressure.
- ACTION: If you know good speakers for OILD that could be powerful and effective, Kristina would like you to send their information and what they might specialize in.
- Kristina and Amy are also committed to continue evolving OILD - Of course, homage will be given to the past, but we also want to innovate and do something different.
- Early bird registration is out and room blocks are open. We have until the 27th of June for the blocks and that is also when food orders will be due by.
- Rooms have already been booked for the keynote presenters - Bios and photos have been requested.
- May communication will be to highlight keynote speakers and May/June will emphasize room blocks.
- https://drzarya.com/ - Will talk about Work/Life Balance and then Chelsea Kimmett will be doing Vision Boards after lunch to have people make it personal, along with coffee and cookies.
- Rep. Tawna Sanchez will also be a keynote speaker.
- Dr. Zarya has asked to record for her own personal records - No concerns about this, as long as consent is given for conference attendees who will be on the video.
- ACTION: Teri may have AAWCC Summer Conference lanyards - Amber will connect with her.
- Wednesday night will include Happy Hour and some low-key networking for folks who want to.
- Samantha is having some good early traction in getting Silent Auction items (i.e. Blazer Tickets, Beach House Weekend).
- She is also planning to have an AAWCC Ambassador Breakfast during the fall conference.
- Scholarship seed money usually came from the silent auction at the Fall Conference. If the Summer Conference brought in additional funds, these were also used for Scholarships and to “back-fill” OILD.
- For summer, we could just select a scholarship amount - Teri is suggesting $1500. Lisa pulled that we did $3500 for scholarships in 2019-2020.
- It would be nice to award scholarships to new participants and we could also focus on those who have never attended an AAWCC Conference before. We may need to add a new regulation around past participants.
- ACTION: Teri will take a look at the scholarship form and make a note of her suggestions, then she will send it to the board for review.
