--List each character from the story and the instrument name that represents each character.

Write the Lyrics

--write the lyrics to a song.  The song can be one that already exists and you change the lyrics - or it can be lyrics to a new song that you have created.

Design a New Instrument

--You have been hired by a large music instrument manufacturer to create and design a totally new instrument for the world.  You have to give your new instrument a name, create drawings/pictures of the instrument and decide what group of instruments (family) your instrument would belong to (ex: brass, string, woodwind, percussion) ….  or maybe it will belong to a totally new group/family of instruments??

Research a famous composer from the past

--Using online resources, printed resources (encyclopedias) -- select a music composer from the past such as Beethoven, Bach or Mozart and write at least two complete paragraphs about information that you discover about the composer that you select.

Create an instrument that plays music

--using items around the house such as cardboard, plastic wrap, yarn, beans, buttons, cloth, rubber bands, etc. -- make an instrument that can be played.  Use your imagination and ask your parents for permission before using the items to make your instrument.
