1.3 Teaching load and SET Scores
OAT will provide the certified teaching load credit based on FSRs, and certified SET scores from CRS data.

Write a statement that describes the nominee’s teaching philosophy (1,500 words max). It should attempt to answer the question: What does it mean to be a UP professor?
According to Nancy Van Note Chism’s (1999) Developing a Philosophy of Teaching Statement[1], the main components of philosophy of teaching statements are “descriptions of how the teachers think learning occurs, how they think they can intervene in this process, what chief goals they have for students, and what actions they take to implement their intentions.”

This section aims to showcase how the nominee translates the teaching philosophy into action. A milestone is an accomplishment that the nominee is particularly proud of or passionate about. How has the nominee’s teaching, research/creative work, and public service contributed to theory-building, community-building, students’ welfare, and/or the improvement of teaching in the nominee’s field of discipline, among others?
The accomplishments should not be a mere listing of work the nominee has done. Focus on quality, not quantity. The milestone should be a careful and thoughtful documentation that highlights the nominee’s contributions. More importantly, it should be apparent to the evaluation committee how the milestone stems from the nominee’s teaching philosophy.
Each milestone entry should not exceed 500 words. Please specify the following:
Provide supporting documents or evidence of milestones. Evidence can be in the form of: testimonials or recommendations from students, peers, organizations, communities; awards; course guide; description of activities in class; description of programs the nominee spearheaded; sample student output (obtained with permission); or any evidence that highlights the nominee’s contributions to the areas specified below.
The nominee may choose to focus on one area only or may present evidence for all areas (teaching, research, and public service).
