Conditions of Entry
Definitions
- All uses of the word ‘you’ or ‘your’ refer to all attendees of Adelaide Anthros.
- All uses of the words ‘Adelaide Anthros’, ‘we’, ‘us’ and ‘our’ refer to the event Adelaide Anthros, its operator Fur Dinkum (ABN: 40 698 983 803) and its directors.
- Any reference to ‘Venue’ includes Adelaide Anthros' chosen Venue and its representatives, management, officers, agents, associates, business entities, assignees, assignee affiliates, or other persons or entities authorised to act on behalf of Adelaide Anthros' chosen Venue.
- Any reference to the ‘Minor' refers to an attendee of a Adelaide Anthros event under the age of 18.
- Any reference to the ‘Guardian' refers to an attendee of a Adelaide Anthros event providing primary guardianship of a Minor in attendance.
- Words importing or signifying the singular shall embrace the plural, and words importing the masculine gender shall embrace the feminine or neutral gender and vice versa, respectively.
- Words importing a person shall be deemed to include a corporate body and vice versa.
Acknowledgements
- Adelaide Anthros and its directors, staff and volunteers are not responsible for any loss, damage, theft or injury sustained during the event or within the Venue.
- Adelaide Anthros reserves the right to remove or ban attendees for any reason it deems fit.
- Failure to comply with Adelaide Anthros' Conditions of Entry can result in a verbal or written warning, the cancelling of your ticket or exclusion from future Adelaide Anthros events.
- You may receive a warning or strike from SAFurs depending on your conduct.
- Willingly and knowingly aiding another attendee in violating our Conditions of Entry may result in a warning, removal from the event or future exclusion from Adelaide Anthros events.
- Adelaide Anthros attendees who have been banned from SAFurs or Two Wolves events due to violations of their policies will be removed or not permitted to attend.
Conduct
Bullying and Harassment
- Harassment of any form is not allowed.
- The bullying of anyone for costume, clothing, non harmful mannerisms is not allowed under any circumstances
- Anti-furry sentiments are not allowed and anyone who comes to the event specifically to make fun of furries will be kicked out with no chance of refund.
Non-Consensual Behaviour
- Always ask for photos or physical contact of any kind when engaging with other attendees.
- You are expected to listen when other attendees ask you to stop what you are doing. Any requests to ‘stop’ or ‘go away’ must be followed, regardless of if your offending conduct is sexual or non-sexual.
- Costumes, fursuits or any other kind of dress does not determine whether or not an attendee consents to any kind of behaviour.
- Consent is critical, we ask that anyone witnessing or being part of a situation that may be breaching consent should be reported to Staff as soon as possible.
- If you as an attendee feel uncomfortable at any time with another attendee or any other persons, please notify a Adelaide Anthros staff member immediately to resolve the situation. If the situation cannot be resolved by a staff member, Adelaide Anthros reserves the right to contact appropriate authorities, including police services, to resolve the situation.
- Health and Safety
- You are not to climb, kick, jump-on or otherwise misuse temporary or permanent structures/equipment in a way that could be a danger to yourself, others, Adelaide Anthros property or property of the Venue.
- For certain panels, the panel host may request that face masks be worn during attendance. Adelaide Anthros will support and enforce this decision for the relevant panels.
- You are not to leave bags, fursuits or any other possessions in walkways, occupying seats or otherwise in a place causing nuisance to other attendees or to the operation of the event.
- It is the responsibility of attendees to take reasonable care of their health/wellbeing while at Adelaide Anthros. If at any point you are feeling unwell, please notify a staff member who will source first and and or other care/support as required
- Masks are encouraged especially in high traffic areas such as the Artist Alley.
- If you test positive for COVID, please do not come to the event. If you feel unwell, we encourage you not to attend for the safety of the other attendees. If you test positive for COVID after the event and you believe you may have been infected at Adelaide Anthros or believe you may have been infectious during the event, please alert Adelaide Anthros staff.
- No animals are allowed in the venue without express permission from Adelaide Anthros. Permission from Adelaide Anthros is not required for registered assistance dogs defined in the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) (DDA) section 9(c) and accredited assistance dogs under the Dog and Cat Management Act 1995.
Respect
- It is an expectation that attendees maintain a reasonable level of courtesy when in the event space
- Inappropriate or malicious use of profanity, profane gestures, or mannerisms will not be tolerated. This behaviour will result in a warning from Adelaide Anthros staff and repeated infractions may result in the removal of an attendee from the event.
- Verbal or physical altercations between dealers, assistants, attendees, volunteers, or staff are unacceptable and will result in immediate expulsion of the offending parties from the convention without refund.
Guardianship and Dependents
- All Minors under the age of 15 must attend with a Guardian.
- Any Guardian accompanying any person under the age of 18 at the Event accepts and approves of these Terms and Conditions on behalf of the Minor and agrees to assume all liabilities, loss and costs of the Minor that arise as a result of these Terms and Conditions, the Minors attendance to the Event and entry to the Venue.
- The Minor and the Guardian acknowledge and agree that the Minor must not at any time attempt to obtain otherwise consume alcohol and the Guardian must not supply or attempt to supply alcohol to the Minor at the event or the Venue.
Costumes and Clothing
Appropriate Dress
- Harnesses, collars and the like are allowed on fursuits and on people.
- Harnesses and collars are not to be leashed or have any kind of pullable ‘leash’ element due to potential safety risks.
- Suitable footwear is required. Bare feet are prohibited unless currently changing. Stilts, wheels or rollerblades must be assessed by staff before the event.
- Kink or heavily kink-adjacent gear such as pet play/pup hoods, latex suits, bondage suits, etc. are not allowed during the day event. These types of clothing are permitted during the night event.
- Clothing or costumes cannot promote divisive or bigoted messages, defamation or misrepresentation of the furry community.
Cosplay and Props
- Adelaide Anthros reserves the right to restrict entry of any costume/fursuit.
- Realistic gun props are not permitted.
- Realistic sword or knife props are not permitted.
- Props that file projectiles of any kind are not permitted.
- Bats (batons/clubs) of any form are not permitted.
- Any prop, costume or other object that produces flames, sparks or explosions are strictly forbidden
- Any decoration or aspect that may easily fall off or is designed to fall off and litter the Venue (such as glitter, confetti, small feathers) are banned.
- Lasers are not allowed regardless of strength. LED/COB lights are welcome.
- Self generated smoke or vapour will need to be assessed by the event, please email staff to assess before the event, including images and descriptions.
- Costumes and props made of metal, glass (any material that can be dangerous) needs to be assessed before the event.
- Any costume which obscures your face needs to be easy to remove if requested by security. You may need to show your face to collect your tickets so we can prove your identity.
- Obscene, offensive or insensitive use of makeup/SFX/cosplay is prohibited, including cosplay that supports hate/hate groups.
- Gorey or graphic elements of a cosplay (eg. blood, plush intestines) need to be assessed before the event. This includes plush/candy gore elements or cartoonish gore.
- Inflatables of any kind (eg. hammers, animals, etc) are not permitted unless they are a non-visible, integrated element of a costume (eg. inflatable tail base for fursuit).
Crowds and Space
- Costumes of an excessive size or weight are restricted, all costumes cannot exceed 2.5 metres in height or width.
- Non-wearable plushies, props or any other kind of objects/toys should not be larger than 1.25 metres in height or width.
Fursuits
- Fursuiters with tails considered a tripping hazard will be asked to carry them indoors or in spaces with dense crowds.
- Fursuits must be “family friendly” and cannot have any visible explicit or suggestive elements. Explicit components are to be covered or hidden by clothing. This includes:
- Human nipples (regardless of gender)
- Any form of genitalia
Weapons, Drugs and Alcohol
- You will be denied entry to Adelaide Anthros if you are visibly inebriated.
- No alcohol is to be brought in from outside the Venue OR brought outside the Venue.
- All forms of actual weapons are not allowed, including things that can be mistaken for firearms.
- Possession, distribution or solicitation of illicit drugs is strictly forbidden.
- No smoking or vaping is allowed inside the Venue, smoking may be permitted outside the Venue and at least 10 metres away.
Media
Adelaide Anthros Media
- Adelaide Anthros reserves the right to publicise any photography or videography taken by its staff during the event.
- You may be photographed or videographed by Adelaide Anthros during the event. These photographs and videos may be posted online by Adelaide Anthros. Adelaide Anthros will make an effort to ensure that individuals in photos and videos are consenting, but we cannot guarantee your clear likeness will not appear in Adelaide Anthros photography and videography.
- If you would like your face removed or likeness removed from an image posted or hosted by Adelaide Anthros, please contact Adelaide Anthros. You are not guaranteed to have an image or video with your likeness removed, censored or redacted.
Attendee Media
- Photography or videoing of Adelaide Anthros events, Staff, or Attendees for sale or publication to the press is expressly forbidden unless written permission has been obtained from a Adelaide Anthros director and media identification provided by Adelaide Anthros is worn.
- As a private individual, you must not photograph or record individuals without asking. If you have accidentally included a person in your photo or videography you must comply with their request to have the photograph removed.
- Selfie sticks or other intrusive or obstructive camera equipment must be used responsibly and only in open spaces.
- Camera or other photography/videography equipment must not obstruct any walkways or cause annoyance to attendees.
- Adelaide Anthros reserves the right to ask any you to stop taking photos or videos at any point for any reason.
Policy Changes
- Adelaide Anthros reserves the right to amend or alter the Adelaide Anthros Conditions of Entry Policy at any time up to and during any Adelaide Anthros event.
