American Dream

What is the American Dream? The American Dream is said to be that every man and woman should have the chance to fulfill what they are capable of. It does not matter the circumstances, if you are rich or poor it doesn’t matter. It depends on what you are capable of. People are trying to make the American Dream become the trial of material success. People work harder not to reach their capability, but to get bigger homes and cars they are working not for their dream, but for others to see their wealth.

I believe the American Dream is not wealth, but reaching your full potential to do what you want, to reach your set goals, not what others believe the dream is what you believe the dream is. The article says this about the American Dream “... to every man, regardless of his birth, his shining, golden opportunity… the right to live, to work, to be himself and become whatever thing his manhood and his vision can combine to make him.” I believe this shows that people should work to their full potential and capability to reach what they want themselves to reach. People shouldn’t base their dreams on others they should work toward their own. My American Dream is reaching my own full potential and getting where I want to in life.
