Handing in the prep

Books should be brought to the next lesson, not to the classroom at any other time.

Alternatively, write and submit the prep using Google Classroom.

If there is a problem, please let JC know.

Lent Term

Week 12        (29 Mar - 2 Apr)

Boris has made a clock but it doesn’t work.  

Explain 3 possible problems and how he could fix them.

Do this on Google Classroom.

Week 11        (22-26 Mar)

Explain how we can fit the clock parts to your clock face.

Draw a diagram to help with the explanation.

Week 10        (15-19 Mar)

Write detailed numbered steps explaining how you are making your clock.

Diagrams will help.

Week 9        (8-12 Mar)

Make sure you have a final clock design with materials and sizes marked on it.

List the steps you are following to make it.

Michaelmas Term

Week 12        (30 Nov - 4 Dec)

In your book or on paper, draw 2 possible clock designs on a Memphis theme.

Week 8        (2-6 Nov)

Make revision notes and draw sketches about making the automaton framework.  You must know tools, detailed techniques and how to solve problems.

Week 7        (19-23 Oct)

Dennis has made an automaton but the models don’t move.  One is supposed to jump and the other should rotate.

Explain what he should have done so he can check.

Week 6        (12-16 Oct)

Explain what cams and wheels you are going to use to move your models and why you chose them.

Do this if possible using Google Classroom.  If you can’t, just use paper.

Week 5        (5-9 Oct)

Plan, draw, describe the separate pieces you will need to make for your moving models on top of the automaton.

Week 4        (28 Sep - 2 Oct)

On a clean plain page in your book, draw the moving models that you want to have on top of your automaton.  Label them and note how they move.
