When you arrive at the event

  1. ENSURE YOU HAVE ALREADY PAID IN ADVANCE.
  2. BRING A COMPLETED CHECK-IN SHEET WITH THE #CODE FOUND ON YOUR PAYMENT EMAIL RECEIPT

IF RUNNING LATE PLEASE message the event organiser so your place can be held and not scrubbed.

8.  CLOTHING & EQUIPMENT

School team supervisors and parents are responsible to ensure that every pupil is wearing a helmet, gloves and appropriate apparel for the mountain. Waterproof trousers are not considered warm enough. Every participant must be wearing salopettes and a warm insulated jacket.

Packed lunches are recommended though centres do have cafes.

EQUIPMENT HIRE: Nevis Range will be offering equipment hire, but it must be booked in advance.  Please contact info@nevisrange.co.uk

9.  PUPIL SUPERVISION

Each team must have an appointed adult to act as team Supervisor. This person must be able to accompany and supervise the pupils and is responsible for the team's safety, wellbeing and conduct at all times.

10. HELPERS: Each team should also aim to provide a volunteer helper (noting their name on the entry form) to assist with the running of the event. In order to run a quality and safe event about 5 helpers are required. Helpers need no previous experience as training will be given at the event. All helpers will receive a free uplift pass for the day where necessary.

11.  FIRST AID & SAFEGUARDING

At each event first aid cover is provided by the professional staff employed by the facility.

School team supervisors are responsible for the safeguarding of pupils in their team and should be equipped to handle any child protection issues in compliance with their school’s child protection and excursions policies.

12.  EVENT ON/OFF DECISIONS

Event ON/OFF decisions are usually taken at 2 points in the lead up to the events:-

ONE WEEK AHEAD of the date of the event an ON/OFF decision will be taken based upon there being the prospect of adequate, consolidated snow over, by the weekend prior to the event (to allow preparation)

ON THE WEEKEND AHEAD of the date a further ON/OFF decision will then be taken based upon there being both:-

  • Adequate consolidated snowcover already in place
  • Suitable weather forecast (less than 40mph wind and reasonable visibility)

Note: If it is deemed that there are insufficient entries to make it viable, we reserve the right to cancel.
