Southeast Kelloggsville Elementary 2023-24 School Improvement Plan
Reading Goal: 70% of all K-2 Kelloggsville students that attend SE Elementary will meet or exceed their projected growth on the Reading NWEA assessment for Fall 2023 to Spring 2024. (Currently at 54%)
- Activity: All K-2 students will be required to take the NWEA so that data is consistent and valid. This data will be used to form intervention groups.
- Activity: All K-2 teachers will use texts that are structured to deepen students’ understanding of different topics, building their schema.
- Activity: All K-2 students will be scheduled in an Intervention time daily. The delivery varies per grade level but will include targeted small-group instruction with students of similar abilities.
Math Goal: 70% of all K-2 Kelloggsville students that attend SE Elementary will meet or exceed their projected growth on the Math NWEA assessment for Fall 2023 to Spring 2024. (Currently at 55%)
- Activity: All K-2 students will be required to take the NWEA. Fall scores will be used to establish intervention groups.
- Activity: All K-2 students will be afforded weekly individual/small group intervention with an emphasis on 1st-grade students for additional minutes.
- Activity: All K-2 teachers will use the Math Expressions program with fidelity for tier 1 instruction.
Whole Child Goal (SEL): All K-2 Kelloggsville students that attend SE Elementary will increase their score on the universal screener on Social Emotional Learning from Fall 2023 to Spring 2024.
- Activity: All K-2 students will be assigned a specific time each day to engage in social interactions and learn how to identify and apply social skills (K-2=SOAR)
- Activity: All K-2 students will complete a universal screener developed by Kelloggsville Public Schools in the Fall of 2024 and again in the Spring of 2025. This screener will identify student areas of need pertaining to social and emotional growth.
- Activity: All K-2 students will be assigned a Social Emotional Learning time (weekly) to engage in lessons from the Second Step programming.
Overall Building Goal: All K-2 Kellogggsville students will be taught to grade-level content regardless of their initial assessments, race, gender or home language.
