About me:

Born and nurtured in Mumbai, India, Sneha Merchant was steeped in a community ethos that championed the essence of giving. Her upbringing in an environment where selfless acts of compassion and philanthropy were celebrated imprinted upon her the conviction that generosity can reshape societies and elevate humanity. Drawing inspiration from her mother's commendable dedication to volunteerism and fundraising, Sneha perceives philanthropy as not just an act but a profound luxury of the soul.

PASSION:

Art and design are more than professions for Sneha; they are the very fibers of her being. Under her artistic umbrella, SNEHA MERCHANT ART beautifully melds acrylic artistry with graphic design finesse. With a vivid imagination, Sneha often finds herself visualizing her next canvas, captivated by the allure of colors and themes, leading her brushes to dance even at 3 am.

EDUCATION:

Sneha's academic pursuits led her to achieve a Bachelor's degree in Interactive Media Design from the esteemed Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, California. She further honed her skills with an Associate's degree in Graphic Design from the Art Institute of Houston.

PHILANTHROPY:

Sneha's dedication to philanthropy has earned her an array of esteemed accolades, including raising an impressive over 2 million dollars for Operation Smile. Some of her accolades are:

2023: Neiman Marcus Best Dressed Honoree for the second time, conferred by the March of Dimes and Papercity Magazine.
2019: Women of Distinction by the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation.
2017: Neiman Marcus Best Dressed Honoree by the March of Dimes.
2017: Recognition among the 50 Most Influential Women of Houston by The Woman’s Magazine.
2016: Universal Smile Award, shared with her husband, Naushir, from Operation Smile Houston, acknowledging their advocacy for cleft lip/palate surgery awareness in children globally.
2012: Star Award by the Asian/Pacific American Heritage Association.
2011: Spirited Ambassador in the inaugural Luminary Award Campaign by the Asian American Family Services.

In addition to these honors, Sneha has chaired and championed numerous fundraisers for distinguished organizations such as Operation Smile, Indian Film Festival of Houston, St. Jude’s Children Hospital's Gold Luncheon, Aga Khan Foundation, and more, epitomizing her unwavering commitment to impactful change. Sneha has had the privilege to go on mission trips with Operation smile to witness first hand where; here fundraising efforts are used.
