ADMINISTRATION

Frank Silva, Principal

Frank Silva’s journey to Napa High School has been very enjoyable. Frank grew up in Napa and attended Alta Heights, Silverado, and Vintage High.  After graduation, he attended San Francisco State University, receiving a degree in Social Science.  He then attended The University of San Francisco for his Teaching and Administrative Credential.  His first teaching position took place in Redwood City.  Frank got married and moved back to Napa where he has worked at Napa Junction, Vintage High, Shearer, Sinaloa Middle School (Novato), Alta Heights and most recently at Browns Valley Elementary School, as a principal. Frank and his wife, Elizabeth, appreciate all Napa High School has done for their 3 children. Frank’s 32 years of experience in education and 23 as an administrator has prepared him for his Napa High School journey.  Frank looks forward to working with families and maintaining the great school culture and programs that Napa High School has to offer.

Dr. Ean Ainsworth, Assistant Principal

Ean Ainsworth is a graduate of CSU East Bay and Brandman University.  He began his teaching career with the Mt. Diablo Unified School District.  He taught Social Studies and AP US History at both the middle and high school levels.  Additionally, he served as the academic coordinator for International Hospitality and Tourism Academy at Mt. Diablo High School.  For the past 10 years, he has served in middle school assistant principal and principal roles both in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District and the Dublin Unified School District. This year, Ean will support Student Services and will work with the Counseling department to establish a Napa High School Wellness Center.  Outside of school, Ean spends his time chasing and chauffeuring his 3 boys.  He is also a sucker for all things Jean-Claude Van Damme and Bigfoot.  All this is made possible with the loving support of his wife.

Kate Gauger, Assistant Principal

Kate Gauger is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara.  She began her teaching career with San Diego Unified School district for 7 years, teaching Social Studies, English, ESL, AVID, PE, and coaching the Varsity Volleyball team. Kate and her family moved to Napa in 2005, and she began the second half of her teaching career with 3 years at New Tech HS and another 3 years at Redwood MS.  Before becoming an Assistant Principal,  Kate  spent 3 years as a district Project Based Learning (PBL) coach, helping teachers to create innovative and engaging classrooms.  In her third year at Napa High, Kate will support Instructional Services with a focus on College Readiness, AVID, and ELD. She will also support the English and Social Studies department.   Outside of school, Kate’s favorite place to be is at the beach with her family and 2 dogs.  She also enjoys hiking, gardening, or eating an amazing meal prepared by her loving husband.

Chris Ready, Assistant Principal

Chris Ready grew up in the community of Napa and is a graduate of Napa High School.  He attended UC Santa Barbara and began his teaching career in the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District. He taught Social Studies, including AP US History, English, and English Language Development (ELD) in middle school and high school for eleven years—ten of those years at Vintage High School. For the past three years he has served as an Academic Specialist at Harvest Middle School and Napa High School. Chris is excited about the opportunity to build relationships with the students, staff, and families of Napa High School in order to help all students grow as learners and young adults in our community.
