[SVUE] How to make an online course requests

Student Portal (StudentVUE) Course Requests

The StudentVUE tool is available as a website or as a mobile app. This document describes how to access the website and make Course Requests for the upcoming school year.

1. Open Chrome or Firefox (recommended browser). Enter the Synergy website: portal.sfusd.edu.

2.Click ‘SIS Student Portal >>’ then login with your district username and password:

3. The main Home screen opens. Click ‘Course Request’ from the menu on the left.

4. To select courses, Click here to change course requests”.  

A) Enter all or part of a Course ID and it will show up results to match your search.

B) From the resulting list click the ‘Add Request’ button for your course. Repeat searching

and selecting courses until all are included in the list.

C) Click the ‘Alternate’ button to select and add secondary choices in the lower list.

5. Be sure to search and select Electives in your preference order, so your primary choice appears in the upper list of Selected Course Requests. Selected Alternate Course Requests will also show.

  1. Click ‘Remove’ if you select an incorrect course, or if the alternate electives are in the wrong order.
  2. When all courses are chosen and listed, click on the first button ‘Click here to return to course request summary’.

6.  The Course Request window opens again. You may be required to select enough courses to match a required total number of credits. If so, repeat searching and selecting courses until the total is reached.

Your counselor will review your choices and Lock Course Requests.  You are finished and can Logout.
