Elgin Middle School 2022-2023

5th Grade Supply List

2 boxes of pencils
2 packages of red pens
2 bottles of Elmer’s 4 oz white glue
1 pair of scissors
2 highlighters
2 large black dry erase markers
erasers (big eraser or pencil toppers)
4 boxes colored pencils (minimum 12)
hand held pencil sharpener for colored pencils
1 zippered pencil pouch large enough for basic supplies (pens, pencils, glue, scissors, colored pencils, sharpener, highlighters)
6 composition books (not spiral bound)
1 package of 100 index cards
1 bottle hand sanitizer
2 containers of Clorox wipes
2 boxes of tissues
1 sturdy expanding file folder with at least 6 tabs. (Lockers are 10 ½” deep. Please make sure the folder will fit in the locker.)
$5 for planner (make checks out to Elgin 5th Grade)

This will be collected at the beginning of the school year in August.

6th Grade Supply List 2022-23

1 wide-ruled composition notebook (100 pages) (Science)

1 plastic folder with prongs (Science)

1 paper folder with prongs (English)

Two - 1.5 inch binders (Math, Reading) (one inch is too small)
2 One inch binder, with dividers (Science, Geography)
Dividers for Binder (Reading)
1 one-subject spiral notebooks (Math)

1 one-subject spiral with built in pockets (English)

basic four function calculator (not scientific)
Kleenex
Clorox Wipes
Hand sanitizer
Loose leaf notebook paper
Backpack (wheeled backpacks do not fit in our lockers and they do not have to be clear)

Pencil Pouch

Please make sure the pencil pouch is large enough to hold:

Pencils (put 3-4 in the pouch and save the rest at home or in your locker for when you need them.)
Grading Pens (any color except blue or black and just put 2-3 in pouch)
Erasers
Hand-held pencil sharpener
Colored pencils (pkg of 12)

(Students usually need at least 2 packages throughout the year)

Highlighters (1 pkg with 4 different colors)
Bottle of glue
Scissors (8 inch)

Place these items in your pouch prior to the first day of school.

6th Grade Wish List

The 6th grade teachers would appreciate these supplies, but they are not required by every student.

**Due the first day of school: $5.00 for daily planner (required). Checks are payable to Elgin Public Schools. You will purchase this from your Geography teacher.

7th Grade Supply List 22/23

7th graders will be given a supply list from each of their teachers with supplies needed for each class.

EVERY 7th grader will need and use:

Pencil bag pouch with pencils, red grading pens, highlighters, colored pencils, scissors, wired earbuds (to be used with Chromebooks),cheap basic calculator (NO Scientific or Graphing), and small bottle of glue.

The following are items that students may need depending on which classes they are assigned. These are items that are on the list individual teachers will hand out the first week of school.

8th Grade Supply List 2022-23

IMPORTANT: This is a generic list of 8th-grade supplies. We are working with new staff members to make final edits. Please remember to look for individual teacher supply lists and syllabi that coordinate with your child’s schedule after the first day of school. A final list of supplies will be available at that time.
