Agenda and Minutes:
- Welcome from Principal Serin
- Safety Drills
- Completed ten (10) Drills
- To date, we have conducted ten (10) emergency drills. We have conducted 7 evacuation drills and 3 lock-down drills. We have 2 more emergency drills left (1 soft lockdown and 1 evacuation).
- Drills must be completed unannounced to simulate a real evacuation.
- When the weather is above 32 degrees, we conduct fire drills.

- Schools environment survey
- The 2024 NYC School Survey administration has been extended to Apr 19, 2024.
Several staff and parents have not completed it as of yet. Reminders have been sent.
- NYS Assessments (ELA/Math)
- Fifth grade completed
- Today, fourth graders started it today (Session 1), Tomorrow will be session 2.
- Third Grade will be Thursday and Friday.
- A “State of the School Meeting” will be held tomorrow, April 16, 2024 for our community. We will give students their Perfect-Attendance award. School goals will be discussed as well as a question and answer session.
- Parent Engagement/Partnership Events. There is a new platform due to costs.

Noticings in mid-year data:
- Note three years of data in Acadiance and I-Ready were reviewed.
- There is a focus on ENL students and students with special needs for reading.
- Phonics and vocabulary are areas of weakness which were issues in the prior year. As such, we are keeping the same goals in reading.
- In math,we will focus on black and ENL students.
- At the end of the year, we will review data again and then modify our goals. The middle-of-year data from I-ready testing includes standards that may have not been taught yet.
- PTA News/Updates:
- April celebrations were today!
- Chocolate sale until May 10th.
- Krispie Creme Donuts fundraiser. Donuts will be delivered Thursday.
- The 2-year for parent SLT members will be in May.
- Senior Events
- Stepping up is on Friday June 21st at 8:30 AM.
- The Senior Trip is being planned to Dave and Busters at Brooklyn Atlantic.
- The trip date will be finalized due to bus scheduling.
- The prom will be organized by the PTA. Dance to be announced later.
- Tuesday, June 18 is the date for the prom.
- Caps and gowns are starting to come in.
