1528. One thing I need to consider is expanding ChkLInes into massive files that go into greater detail.

1529. Disclosure: my posts may contain affiliate links. If you buy something through one of those links, you won’t pay a penny more, but I’ll get a small commission, which helps keep the lights on. Thank you!

1530. Create a txt file to house my different widgets.

In the process, I located dozens of insights—from “Remember Your Manners” to “Read the Fine Print” to “Revisit a Neglected Virtue, Humility.” As I was finishing the book, I realized that nine big chunks of wisdom stood head and shoulders above the rest, and I named them Emeralds. Emerald #3, for example, is “Celebrate Yourself Just for Showing Up,” and Emerald #6 is “Face Your Fear.”

Susan: I’ve always loved the scene in the movie when Glinda tells Dorothy that the Ruby Slippers have the power to return her to Kansas, which gives rise to your Emerald # 8, “You’ve Got the Power and You’ve Had it All Along.”

1532. Marcus Aurelius said, “You have power over your mind—not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.” Viktor Frankl talked about how between stimulus and response, we have space, and in that space, we determine not just our response, but who we are.

1533. 3,000 words a day can be done, but it’s not working for me.  Too much like a full-time job and not like walkabout.  I am scaling back to a 800 to 1200 word article per day based on an ebook in Kindle Unlimited.  A good article can be posted on one of my blogs, and a spun paragraph or two will link to it from Web 2.0 properties.

1534. Sitting Is The New Smoking Redux

Years ago, I wrote an article about sitting as the new smoking.  Didn’t mean I would follow my own advice.  Besides supposedly shortening your life, sitting beats up on my old prostate something fierce.

I am running out of time to take this, and other actions, to maximize my health for the later years of life.

Some medical experts claim your life expectancy decreases by two hours for every hour of sitting.  Sounds fishy to me.  As much as I sit, my life expectancy would be negative.

Others claim that those who sit longest are more likely to develop heart disease and diabetes.  I continue to fight the later, but I don’t know one way or another if sitting has anything to do with it.

1535. Walkabout Is All About Your Path

When it comes to affiliate marketing and Walkabout Solopreneur, we all fall victim to greed and quick fixes and promoting products that have the highest commissions instead of products you actually use, or are researching and considering buying.

I find myself writing articles for future ebooks before I am really interested in the topic.  It’s easy to get ahead of yourself.

But there’s another reason to devote your base writing to a Julia Cameron type stream-of-consciousness.  Not necessarily handwritten like her 3 pages each morning, but maybe a mixture.  I want most of my writing to be done in my daily curated/raw file that can be turned into posts and pages, and even a pdf.

*I publish these daily doc files on Google.  Parts that I want to use as posts or articles I extract, edit, and reformat on my Wordpress blogs.  If you decide to post pdf versions of your Google Docs, be sure to eliminate any Amazon links like the one to Julia Cameron above.  This violates Amazon’s terms of service.

Handwritten is faster, but then you have to enter the text into your blog.  Handwritten is best when you are out and about and have wasted time where you can get a little writing in for 5 or 10 minutes while you wait for the doctor or government clerk.  Why waste time looking at YouTube cute cat videos on your smartphone.

I’m a 65 year old IBM*.  I don’t have time to write reviews of crappy products or articles about subjects that don’t interest me just to make a buck.  I have enough coming in to survive, even if it’s close to an ascetic level.

There is no need to spend time learning about topics that don’t help improve my life.

Another benefit of taking this daily mental walk is to write out some of the garbage that invades your head, and take out the trash.  I hate when a memory is triggered about sum dumbass stupid evil thing I did 50 years ago hurt someone and I should seek them out and apologize.

If it were only that easy.  I don’t know where that victim is today.  I don’t know exactly what I did, or even if my memory is accurate.  All I can hope is not to repeat that mistake, and to make amends if I can.

This file is also where you can collect your research.  If I find an interesting topic online, I create a link to that page, and maybe include a couple of quotes or comments.  This can be posted in your Web 2.0 properties, forums, or in articles that link back to your main blogs.

If I have the time, I may use the article to write a short post on the topic for one of my blogs.  It saves time coming back to the site later.  Also, if the topic is something you might want to revisit in a longer article or ebook, create a swipe file and copy and paste the best quotes.  I hate having to research multiple times.

People who are into speed writing will tell you to do this a different way.  You have to decide what is best for your WS lifestyle.

Speed writers (for a book):

  1. outline a complete book before writing
  2. create chapter topics
  3. brainstorm small points within each chapter
  4. turn each point into a question
  5. pick 3 keywords that apply
  6. start the first sentence with one of the keywords, hopefully a verb
  7. include all 3 keywords in the first paragraph
  8. write by hand as fast as possible on this one point for 5 minutes
  9. don’t edit or correct spelling
  10. done

In one way, if you are trying to write as much as possible in as little time as possible, this will work.  You can outline an entire 200 page book in about a week, and write the entire first draft in about 2 weeks.  I’ve done it, but it sucks.

Next comes the research and editing.  The advantage to writing first is that you don’t need any facts.  If I say Saudi Arabia is the largest producer of oil in the world.  I might be right, and I might be wrong.  Now that I’m editing, this is where the book is being entered into a word processor, so check your facts.

Also, especially if you are creating an ebook or Kindle book, you can create links to your sources.  Traditional footnotes suck and take a huge amount of time.  You can also link to articles and posts on your own sites to build traffic and readers for your other works.

Expect your rewrite to take 1 to 2 months.  I don’t recommend this method unless you are in need of building a super business in a short period of time.  This is too much like a job, and I am my worst boss ever.

I need to walk, not run constantly.  You have to adjust for you.

In my daily pdf, I also create outlines and posts of physical books I have read.  I don’t buy too many books, but when I do, I often underline important point like I did in college, and make notes.  So many people read when society steals their time, like a visit to the DMV.  Why not read and learn?

If a point is important enough to underline, it should make a good blog post.  It may well make its way into a first draft of a book or ebook that you are writing.

One thing is for sure.  If you write 1,000 to 3,000+ words per day - on any and all topics - you will find keywords that lead to thousands of affiliate products you can promote with a clean conscious.  Your first affiliate links can be just a contextual one in your posts and articles inside your main blog.

1536. Some of my daily routines must include 3 hours of walking to counter a lot of sitting, and carpet cleaning and other chores around the house to get it in shape for visitors.

1537. Doug Casey: The Democratic Party Is a “Freak Show”

“There’s much more I can say about education. But there’s absolutely no reason why there should be $1.5 trillion worth of student loans outstanding. It’s not a sign of a well-educated country. It’s evidence of stupidity and corruption.”

“The fact is that if you’re worth anything, you educate yourself. Sitting in a classroom for six hours a day listening to professors drone on doesn’t constitute an education, especially today when almost all of the professors are cultural Marxists. College doesn’t just present zero value today. It offers negative value.”

In my experience, people who go to college and became successful would almost certainly have been successful anyway. It wasn’t college that made them successful. It’s the logical fallacy of post hoc ergo propter hoc – after something, therefore because of it – in action.

The whole system is already terminally corrupt. Free school only makes it worse. People don’t value anything that’s free. In fact, they tend to treat it, and anybody that passes it out to them, with a form of contempt. Why? There has to be some kind of voluntary exchange in any moral relationship. Or a master-slave, conman-mark, patron-client, politico-voter relationship is implied. And the result is resentment.

1538. Once I find the right woman, I need to find the right place to live.  Tropical islands are always tempting.  When you don’t need heat, air conditioning, or long pants, life tends to be cheap once housing needs are met.  Cars are mostly not needed, and some guy with a motorcycle will give you a lift anywhere.  I can write anywhere.

1539. The Income Tax is Destroying the World Economy

“It was Obama who pushed FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act) that requires all foreign entities to report on anything they do with Americans outside the USA or else their assets will be confiscated in the USA. The FATCA legislation was passed into law in 2010 as part of the unrelated jobs legislation known as the HIRE law. FATCA is a broad, complex set of rules designed to increase tax compliance by Americans with financial assets held outside the United States. Consequently, no American can have a bank account outside the USA, for banks will no longer accept the risk that an American failed to pay their taxes. Prior to FATCA, growth rates were generally greater than 6% reaching 7% in 2004 annually. Since then, the highest growth rate was 5.4% in 2018.”

1540. Violent Climate Change is Wet and Cold

“The excessive rains in many parts of the US this week come just as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration released data showing the last 12 months have been the wettest in recorded history for the Lower 48 states.” We do have intense climate change with the gathering Grand Solar Minimum working to increase cosmic ray penetration of our atmosphere, which seeds clouds and increases precipitation.”

For vegans like myself, it may do some good to buy a few extra canned goods since yields of corn and vegetables should be down.  We may all have to start acting like preppers.

1541. What is Google Nest that I see advertised?

Big brother or nanny?

1542. 10 Activities To Add To My Life

1. Instead of fasting, go to a grain/starch free diet for 2 weeks or until the blood sugar is under control. (low calorie, low fat)

2. Find 1 hour a day for carpet cleaning.  Especially until June 9th.

3. As painful as it is, do most of my writing in the TV room.

4. Use the desktop as a standing desk at least 1 hour a day.

5. Walk 3 hours a day in 1-3 sessions.  Should combat all of the sitting.

6. Have 2 barrels of yard waste ready each Wednesday.

7. Drop off 1 box of stuff at the Salvation Army each week.

8. Use the bug spray around the garage and inside the house 1x per week.

9. Be sure to take special care of my teeth with 2x flossing.

10. Create a good spreadsheet with affiliate marketing links.

1543. To be able to put up with her bullshit, I am going to have to remove myself to the other room most of the time she is awake.  I don’t want to see her or hear her voice.  I need to be in the other room working.

1544. Diabetes is kicking my ass.  I don’t know how radical I have to go.  Fasting.  Daniel Fast.

1545. “Ideas spread from person to person. Horizontally. Because someone who encountered an idea cared enough to spread the word, to talk about it, to insist that friends and colleagues pay attention, if just for a moment.” ~ Seth Godin

1546. As I comment on articles I read, determine how they help IBMs* and link back.  These next 3 months are all about mastering affiliate marketing.

1547. For the main WS document, especially for tools and basics, state some small points and link to ChkLines.  Don’t worry about writing except what is coming naturally and get those blogs in good condition.

1548. How to Survive the Journey Ahead: A Graduation Message for a Terrifying Age

I don’t know if this was a transcript of a graduation speech, but it is a super article.

1549. I use the Google published docs to put ChkLines on the web because of convenience.  Any updates, additions, or deletions to the doc file are instantaneous.

1550. What are the core problems in America in spite of the interesting political drivel we are assaulted with?

1551. Create an SEO business to use with LBDs.

1552. VidProfixPro

I’m going to start by creating a simple txt only page in WP on one of my blogs.  I want to see how simple this software is to use.

I believe this program could be the basis of all affiliate marketing.  I am still creating the original videos now, and it’s cool as snot.  I can’t wait to add CB pages.

1553. Diabetes is still kicking my ass.  I need to become the Diabetic Ascetic.  I will spend 4 to 5 days cleaning out the room and getting rid of excess stuff.  Add in cleaning and yard work.  Then a 1 week fast.  After eating up current food in the fridge.  My biggest fear is that the only way to tackle this problem is with extended fasting.  Or insulin.

1554. “Thinkin’ Rots the Mind!”

It is not a coincidence that the collapse of Western Civilization is being accompanied by a rampant mindlessness and reptilian reaction to events so contrary to the means by which this culture was created. Civilizations are created by individuals; they are destroyed by collectives. Creative acts do not simply happen, but require energized minds capable of focusing on subject matters often over extended periods of time.

Once a culture becomes thoroughly politicized, most people come to believe that the most effective means of human action necessitates the use of threats and violence. This represents the essence of all political systems, distinguished from the peaceful and voluntary methods of non-political social systems. It is the mind that is the battlefield for this contest. Only individuals can think; collectives react.

1556. 5 Oil-Free Salad Dressings that Actually Taste Good

The technique goes, if you learn a few simple dressing recipes, then you can shape nearly anything in your kitchen into a delicious salad of your choosing.

“The Recipe:

1 cup cashews (or sunflower seeds or slivered almonds)

1 1/2 cup water

3 Tbsp balsamic vinegar

1 tsp dried oregano

1/2 – 3/4 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

Blend all ingredients until creamy. Add additional salt/pepper to taste.”

Blend all ingredients till creamy and smooth. Make sure not to blend so long that it gets hot. If too thick, add more water.

The Recipe:

Optional first step: Toss the whole garlic cloves (peeled, of course) around in a dry skillet over medium heat for 5-10 minutes, until they just barely start to color and blister. This retains the garlic flavor but tones down the intensity a little bit.

Add the garlic to a food processor blender and pulse a few times to mince. Then add the rest of the ingredients and combine until smooth. Add water until you reach a relatively thin consistency, but not so thin that it won’t stick to your s

The Recipe:

Puree the vinegar, blueberries, and half of the walnuts in blender until smooth, thinning it with 1 or 2 tablespoons of water if desired.

Finely chop the rest of the walnuts. Transfer to a jar with a tight-fitting lid and add the shallot, thyme, and sugar. Shake to combine and season with salt and pepper. Refrigerate for at least a few hours and up to 3 days to allow the flavors to meld.
