Ethical Fashion breakthrough as Emma Watson works with Australian app for Vogue issue

Ethical fashion startup Good On You has partnered with Emma Watson and Vogue Australia as part of a special edition dedicated to sustainable fashion.

The magazine’s March issue (released February 26th) features the Hollywood actor, and renowned ethical fashion advocate, as guest editor and cover star.

For her cover story, Watson wears clothes that have been rated by Good On You for their commitment to sustainability, the fair treatment of workers and animal rights.

Good On You is a Sydney-based startup which has developed the world’s most trusted and robust fashion brand ratings system - along with an ethical shopping app that allows shoppers to look up how their favourite brands perform and discover more sustainable alternatives.

The Good On You app already has more than 100,000 users worldwide, with more than 1300 major and emerging brands rated.

Good on You Co Founder Sandra Capponi said the March Vogue issue shows that ethical fashion is now  mainstream.

“Emma Watson invited Good On You to collaborate on the issue to ensure that the brands she recommends met her high standards of ethics and sustainability,” she said.

“We think Vogue Australia’s decision to dedicate their March issue to sustainability is a real breakthrough for the industry.

“Fashion is a multi-billion dollar global business, and so has a huge role to play in addressing climate change, pollution, poverty and exploitation.

“It’s clear that consumers are demanding more from brands. In this age of instant access to information they want to know who made their clothes and what impact they’re having on the planet.

“That’s why we created our ratings system and app - to give people the tools to shop according to their values.

“We couldn’t be prouder of this collaboration with Emma Watson and Vogue Australia, and we look forward to working with more brands to create positive change.”
