Summit Academy 2024-2025 School Improvement Plan

Goal 1: Improve County Dropout Rate
Strategies:
- Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs): Develop ILPs tailored to each student’s academic needs and career aspirations, with short-term and long-term goals. Regularly monitor and adjust these plans to keep students engaged and progressing.
- Credit Recovery Opportunities: Offer flexible credit recovery programs with varied formats, such as online modules, project-based learning, or blended classroom instruction to help students stay on track.
- Flexible Scheduling Options: Offer flexible scheduling (e.g., evening classes, hybrid courses) to accommodate students needing to work, support their families, or face other responsibilities.
Measurable Outcomes:
- Reduce the dropout rate by 10% in the first year.
- 85% of students will show positive attendance and academic progress within their PLPs.
Goal 2: Build Strong Community Partnerships
Strategies:
- Guest Speaker Series: Invite community members to discuss their careers, successes, and life challenges. This will help students see practical applications of their education and build a sense of community involvement.
- Resource Partnerships: Collaborate with local agencies to provide additional resources, including counseling, job placement services, and health support, directly to students.
- Collaboration with Mental Health and Social Services: Partner with local mental health and social service organizations to provide counseling, crisis intervention, and additional support for students facing personal challenges.
Measurable Outcomes:
- Secure partnerships with at least 10 community organizations or businesses in the first year.
Goal 3: Build a Positive School Culture
Objective:
Create a supportive, inclusive, and motivating school environment that encourages students to take pride in their school, respect each other, and commit to their personal and academic success.
Strategies:
Celebration of Successes: Regularly celebrate student achievements—academic, personal, and behavioral. Create a “Summit Success Wall”
School Traditions and Events: Create school-wide traditions and service-learning projects that foster pride and a sense of community. These events can be geared toward both students and families.
