To whom it may concern:

I’m writing you today as a concerned fan of Columbus Crew. As you may have heard, team owner Anthony Precourt is considering relocating the team to Austin, Texas.

Since you are one of the team’s corporate partners, your company is directly affected by this. The people of Columbus and fans of MLS across the country are standing up against this move. If you look on social media, you will find fans of literally every soccer team in the country using the #SaveTheCrew hashtag, changing their avatars to Crew colors, or otherwise showing their support.

I love this team and want them to remain a part of our great city—and I believe you do as well. Keeping this team local and connected to its 23-year fanbase is a good business move for all parties involved. Columbus Crew has introduced new brands into the Columbus market that have benefitted, and raised the profile of existing brands. From small food trucks to international businesses, the team’s corporate partners gain a lot from these relationships.

As such, I am asking you today to speak out. Reach out to Columbus Crew and Precourt Sports Ventures and voice your support for the team remaining in Columbus. Whatever influence or say you have in matters relating to business relationships with the Columbus Crew, I ask that you use them to prevent this from happening, or letting the ownership know that there are consequences for this action.

These Columbus Crew fans are your customers, your neighbors, and your friends. We hope that you yourselves are fans of the sport—but at very least, we hope you are a fan of a strong and vibrant supporter community in Columbus for our soccer team.

Thank you so much for your consideration in this matter. Your support means the world to us.
