ELA

Media Literacy Projects are due to be completed  in every class by April 30th at the latest*. Please plan to visit THIS Friday, May 3rd during our 8th period (1:45-3:00 PM) to view their work!

Hopefully, we will begin Unit 4, Differences,  with a surprise activity next week as well.

We’ve been learning about the Columbian Exchange and the impact of European exploration and colonization of the Americas.  This week we’ll be learning about the Middle Passage and the Atlantic slave trade.

7th grade AVID has focused on community building and the basics of organization for the first few weeks of school. We’re now moving into the Tutorial process, in which students will form collaborative groups to assist one another with challenging questions and “Points of Confusion” in their academic classes.

Self portraits are well under way. Students began by practicing photo realism in drawing either a fork or a marble sculpture as seen in the photo below. Below that are two self portraits that have been completed by 8th graders.
