Dear Brentwood Community,

This weekend, St. Louis City and County governments announced a “Stay-at-Home” mandate that begins today and will remain in effect for 30 days. In light of this announcement and the State of Missouri’s orders to enact social distancing as much as possible, this afternoon, school districts throughout St. Louis County and City announced an extension of building closures through April 22nd, 2020. Brentwood School District joins its neighbors in extending its building closures through April 22nd, 2020. You can view a full copy of the announcement by clicking here.

During this time, we will continue to work with our families and staff to deliver a high-quality virtual learning program for our students. You should have received further communication from your principals this weekend regarding what to look for when virtual learning starts across the district tomorrow. While it remains our goal to get students back into our buildings as quickly as possible, we understand the unprecedented times we find ourselves in and put the health and safety of our community as our top priority.

While our staff have been working on developing our virtual learning program for the past few weeks, we recognize that it will be a new experience for all of us. As such, we ask for your continued patience as we work together to keep our students engaged in the learning process. If you experience any technology issues with the virtual learning program, you can contact our TECH HELPDESK at 314-262-8508 and someone will respond to you within 24 hours. Of course, if you have any other questions, please contact us.

There are several other updates I want to make sure you’re aware of:

I am proud to be a part of such a caring and dedicated community and I look forward to your continued partnership as we support one another throughout this pandemic. I am confident that together we can overcome any challenges and ensure our students are safe, happy, and healthy while receiving distance education.

We will continue to communicate with you throughout the coming days and weeks.

Your partner in education,

Brian Lane, Ed.D.
Superintendent
