Isaac Newton Biography

Isaac Newton was born in a town called Woolsthorpe-by-Colsterworth in England in 1643 and died in 1727. He lived 84 years. And in 1705 he was knighted. Isaac Newton went to the King's School Grantham from 12-17. Then he went to Trinity College and earned his masters degree. Newton also invented calculus.

Isaac Newton also did work in optics he discovered that white light is actually rainbow. Using that he made the reflecting telescope. At that time they used refracting telescopes which used lens to bend light wich made a lot of the colors disappear. The reflecting telescope avoid that problem by using mirrors.

         In 1703 Isaac Newton was named president of the Royal society. He was also the first scientist to be buried at Westminster Abbey. It was a famous church were english monarchs are buried.
