A Whole Life Path: Abiding in Stillness, Engaging with Wisdom
February 29-March 29, 2020
The minimum requirement is to have participated in at least:
*Both Insight/Vipassana and Zen silent retreats qualify for the silent retreat requirements. A Dzogchen silent retreat may be applied to one of the silent retreat requirements. If you have a question about whether a particular silent retreat meets this requirement, please email us at email@example.com.
The above requirements are meant to support your preparedness during an intensive retreat such as this one. We hope that by announcing this retreat over a year in advance, you will have the opportunity to fulfill these requirements. If you have not completed the requirements at the time of registration, please provide information about the specific retreat(s) you intend to take, including dates, teacher, and retreat center/location.
All requirements are to be completed by December 31, 2019.
We will ask you to submit a history of past retreat and practice experience in the application form and take this into consideration.
We are in the process of gathering and assembling information about upcoming opportunities for Vipassana and ID retreats that fulfill the requirements. They will be posted here. If you are aware of retreat opportunities that are not listed, please email us and we will make sure to post them.
To register, please complete the registration form which will collect information about your retreat history, medical information, and psychological health. This is to assess the suitability of this retreat for you. The teachers will carefully look at this and you may be asked some additional questions via a brief interview with Jill Shepherd as part of the application process. For this reason, please wait until your registration is confirmed before making your travel plans or submitting payment for retreat. You will receive confirmation within 2-3 weeks.
Accommodations at Bosoord include both single and double rooms, most of which have private bathrooms. Single rooms will be assigned on a first-come first-served basis, with priority given to participants with a medical need. Please register early if you wish to have a single room. Once single rooms are filled, you will be given a shared double room. If there are special circumstances around the need for a single room, please contact us.
All meals are vegetarian and medical dietary restrictions can be accommodated. You will be able to make accommodation and dietary requests when you register.
You can also email us with any questions: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The fees to attend this retreat are on a tiered fee structure. The tiered fees listed offer you the ability to pay your retreat fee at different levels depending on your financial situation. Note that all retreat costs are stated in euros.
In order to convert euros to your currency, go here: https://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/
The subsidized level does not fully cover the costs of room and board. This level is subsidized by generous donations from individuals, Metta Programs/Insight Dialogue Community(IDC), and the additional fees from the Supporting Level.
The sustaining level covers the costs for your room and board and contributes to costs for: teacher transportation, room, and board; retreat manager room and board; a €10 administrative charge to SIM (see information about SIM, below.)
The supporting level covers your costs and contributes to teacher costs, and also contributes to the flow of dana by subsidizing the reduced fee of others who are not able to cover the full cost of the retreat. We offer three levels of support: €150, €300, and €500; you are also welcome to offer more support, of course! :)
The Guiding Sangha of Insight Dialogue Community has contributed generously to the scholarship fund. Scholarships are granted on the basis of financial need and support the intention to foster a community that is inclusive and diverse in age, gender, sexuality, capacity, race, and ethnicity. It also will support Insight Dialogue Community (Metta Programs) teachers and facilitators to benefit from an extended retreat opportunity.
Applications for scholarships should be submitted no later than April 1, 2019. Request for scholarships later than that will be dependent on the flow of dana into the scholarship fund.
You will be able to apply for scholarship support when you fill out the registration form.
Monastics: Please email us at email@example.com for scholarship information.
Whether or not you attend this retreat, consider this is a wonderful opportunity to practice generosity for the benefit of all who wish to participate in this retreat and need support. Any dana offered for this purpose is whole-heartedly welcomed.
Community-wide support of this fund will increase the number and amount of scholarships that can be offered and widen access to this Month-Long Retreat. In order to contribute to this fund, please go here.
