Attention all BOCES Students:
BOCES is closed Today, March 8th for Superintendent's Conference Day. However, John Jay H.S. is still in session.

John Jay 2024 Apparel Pickup- There are still a handful of orders that have not been picked up from the Class of 2024 apparel stores run throughout the year. Please stop by room 226 to pick up if you have not, and try to have your confirmation email handy for a faster process!

ARE YOU GOOD AT TRIVIA? THE MATH HONOR SOCIETY IS HOSTING OUR ANNUAL QUIZ BOWL ON TUES MARCH 12 AFTER SCHOOL. WE NEED A MINIMUM OF 5 TEAMS TO RUN THE CONTEST. Join us for a fun trivia event on Tuesday, March 12th after school in the cafeteria! Each team can have 3-6 people, and can include one teacher. This is completely free to enter, and each member of the winning team will receive a $20 Dunkin’ Donuts gift card! The Renaissance Club will be conducting a food drive to benefit the Dutchess County Veteran Center in Pleasant Valley. This organization provides many services to our local veteran community, including a food pantry. There will be collection boxes in ALL Social Studies classrooms. A list of needed items can be found on all collection boxes.
All food donations will be collected on Wednesday, March 20th.
The next Student Government meeting is on Monday March 11th after school in room 226.
CAPE Teen Driving-A Family Affair - April 10th

Any student volunteering with one of our local fire departments (Hopewell Hose, Stormville Fire, Hillside Lake, Wiccoppee Fire, Protection Engine, or Rombout Fire). Please see your counselor regarding a scholarship opportunity ASAP.
This is a REMINDER TO ALL JOHN JAY STUDENTS! The student parking lot is ONLY for SENIORS with a registered parking pass. There will be CONSEQUENCES OF Disciplinary actions such as lunch detention, ISR, suspension and revocation of parking privileges for any unregistered drivers found in the lot.
In addition, for the safety and security of all students and staff, while on campus please adhere to the 5 M.P.H. Speed Limit. Students who fail to comply with the 5 M.P.H. speed limit, may face disciplinary actions and/or lose the privilege to park on premises.
Attention Sophomores: Are you interested in developing your Leadership Skills? You may want to apply to RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award), a five-day overnight conference to develop leadership skills. Sponsored by your local Rotary Clubs and held at Mount Saint Mary College July 7th – 11th. Interested Sophomores can pick up an application in Guidance room 239.

Community Foundation Scholarship Workshops
The Community Foundation of The Hudson Valley is offering monthly virtual scholarship workshops via zoom. Attendees are led through the online scholarship process and questions are answered throughout the workshop. This event is open to high school students and/or their parents/guardians, undergraduate college students, high school teachers, school counselors, and any high school staff or administration. Registration is required for these workshops and can be found at the following website: https://communityfoundationshv.org/scholarships/. The Workshop Zoom link will be emailed to all registrants on the morning of each session.

Varsity Boys Tennis: Try-outs for the Varsity Boys Tennis Team begin on Monday, March 11th from 3 to 5PM at Taconic Sport & Racquet. Be sure to sign-up on FamilyId. If you have any questions please reach out to Coach Duffy or stop by Room 139.
