Abuse is seeking to fill the contract position of:
Clinical Therapist
ACAA is the primary sexual abuse and sexual assault service provider in the East Central Region of Alberta, delivering specialized counselling, crisis services and education. For over 30 years, ACAA has offered leadership, expertise and compassionate services to lessen the impact of trauma, and to support the health and wellbeing of the entire community. You will provide counselling services to survivors of sexual violence, in one or more communities in east central Alberta. This position offers flexibility, supervision and specialized training opportunities. This Posting will remain open until positions are filled.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct counselling services to individuals who have experienced recent and/or historical sexual abuse, assault, or other forms of trauma
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up to date files
- Submit reports, evaluation tools, and permanent file contents to central office
- Adhere to the vision, mission, and mandate of ACAA
- Participate in regular supervision support with Clinical Director and Team Meetings
- Serve clients in one or more communities: Camrose, Stettler, Drumheller, Hanna, Castor, Coronation, and surrounding areas. Location and number of files is dependent upon therapist availability.
Qualifications:
- A Masters degree in Clinical Social Work, Counselling Psychology or equivalent
- Active Registration in good standing with a legislated professional regulatory body in Alberta, eligible for independent practice and to provide services in the province of Alberta
- A minimum of 5 years experience required, work in trauma field essential
- Comfortable working independently, providing compassionate, client centered services
- Therapists are not required to live in east central Alberta but must be willing to see clients within the region.
- Excellent interpersonal, inter-professional team skills and excellent oral and written communication
- Criminal Record Check and Child Welfare Check are required
ACAA Provides:
- Clinical supervision
- Intake and client referrals
- Funding to provide long-term treatment
- Administrative support and record keeping, access to OWL Practice database
- Training allowance and resources
- Bi-monthly in-person training and supervision
- Mileage to community of service (if applicable)

Location: Service required in one or more communities of East Central Alberta, but candidate is not required to reside within region.
