Week of February 16

Last week students continued working on persuasive writing as they wrote about whether kids should have screen time limits. They found research on both sides of the issue, used an organizer to plan and then wrote their persuasive paragraphs. Students also worked on their impact project. They used previous brainstorming to choose one project to focus on for the remainder of the year. Students are focused on projects that leave an impact in our community or world.

Next week we have a couple of fun learning experiences here at school. On Wednesday Denver Water will be here on Wednesday, 2/21. We will investigate how natural hazards such as drought, flood, and fires impact our water system. Then on Friday, 2/23 we will learn about birds’ skeletal system with the Audubon Society. It’ll be a busy, short week!
