School counselors at Windham Middle School are here to help you become the best person you can be.

Some of the ways we do this is:

There are two counselors at Windham Middle School:  Mrs. Gilbert and Ms. Trego

You have probably already met them or seen them around school (including supervising in the cafeteria at lunch!). You can make an appointment to meet with your school counselor anytime you want.  Just stop by the guidance office and tell the secretary, Mrs. Cobb,  that you need an appointment or let your teacher know and they will email the counselor. You'll get a pass in Ignite the next day with the time of your appointment. Ask your teacher to sign it and then come to the guidance office.

WMS counselors teach classes to you each year.

These include:

Grade 6:  Who Am I? Understanding your personality/learning style and Growing Up is Hard to Do

Grade 7:  Kindness and Empathy

Grade 8:  How Do I Get There?  Transition to the high school

Mrs. Gilbert has been at Windham Middle School since 2013.  This school year (2018-2019) Mrs. Gilbert will be working with 6th grade teams Hurgin/Jackson and Freeman/Day-Maynard. She will also be with the entire 7th grade students and teams.  She loves working with students and promoting kindness and caring in the middle school. Mrs. Gilbert loves camping, reading, and going to the ocean.

This school year (2018-2019), Ms. Trego is the school counselor for 6th graders on Franzoni/DiDonato, Mayo/Berry, and Hopkins/Stokes teams. In addition, she works with all the 8th graders and the 8th grade teams. She has been a school counselor for 18 years and enjoys assisting and helping students.  During her free time, Ms. Trego enjoys being outdoors- hiking, biking, kayaking and playing tennis.
