*Note: Volunteers must sign up by deadline to be event volunteers on Sunday, Feb 4 between 7am-5pm. Walk-ins will only be accepted after 5pm.

Volunteer Guidelines:

Role Descriptions:

Title: Load-in, Set-up, Break-down

General Description: Tết in Boston requires hours of work to load-in, set-up, and break-down for the main festival. Volunteers should be physically fit and able to put things together if required. This may include hanging banners and signs, setting up tables, chairs or decorations, cleaning up and organizing, and more.

Title: Handypersons

General Description: Many of our large pieces require assembly using power tools during setup and breakdown. If you’re interested in these tasks and have your own tools (optional), let us know!

Title: Ticketing Team

General Description: Should be enthusiastic and friendly, volunteers handle registration, re-entry, and queuing for general attendees, while some may assist in volunteer, entertainment and vendor check-ins.

Title: Raffles Seller

General Description: Should be enthusiastic and friendly, idle volunteers will be assigned to raffles during the main event.

Title: Usher/Information Team

General Description: Volunteers help attendees find what they are looking for and provide information such as where food can be found, kids games, entertainment, and more. They play an important role in creating a welcoming environment and preventing attendees from feeling lost or missing out on the many activities Tết in Boston has to offer.

Title: Parking Team

General Description: Parking team help direct traffic and assist with parking. Attendees are recommended to be comfortable with standing outside in winter conditions.

Title: Stagehand

General Description: Stagehands assist the Entertainment committee on the day of the festival. Volunteers can assist with everything from tech and stage set-up to running errands required to make the show go off without a hitch.

Title: Photographer

General Description: Looking to build your portfolio or interested in showcasing the community in your own image? Consider becoming a volunteer photographer.

Title: Photo Station Support

General Description: Stationed at popular photo sets, these volunteers will assist with taking photos (using guests’ phones) as needed.

Title: Games Facilitator

General Description: Facilitate games stations.

Title: Volunteer Support

General Description: A volunteer helping out volunteers. Volunteers are discouraged from leaving their assigned station during their shifts. Supporters help distribute water, snacks, moral support, etc.

Title: Floater

General Description: Floaters will be given out tasks as needed.
