Mining
KAS:
- Built on kHeavyHash, very efficient for mining and processing transactions. The difference between GPU and ASIC is very substantial when compared to bitcoin mining with a GPU and an ASIC. Already reached full progression to ASIC’s. Emissions are based on a curve over time at an increasing rate (No strict block halving)
ALPH:
- Built on blake_3, slightly more efficient than kHeavyHash on a GPU. No progression to ASIC’s but there have been FPGA floating around (No widely available bitstreams). Emissions are based in ranges, dependent on the hashrate. Once it hits 1 EH/s the proof-of-less-work will be triggered. Once this happens there will be a barrier of entry to mine, you have to have ALPH to mine, this is done through burning.
Tech
Kaspa and Alephium both share some of the same tech. One is fully DAG and the other works with DAG to reach consensus between shards. Alephium right now has smart contracts which are native and have been used already on ayin.app. Kaspa has smart contracts in the pipeline which could either be native or built on ETH. Nothing is built on kaspa coin yet but alephium does have some dApps like walph and others i.e AYIN. Tech behind both have been written in extensive papers with complicated maths.
