Position Title: Campus Life Coordinator
Summary: The Campus Life Coordinator is responsible for leading robust student engagement and campus life programming at MCU. They are knowledgeable about MCU’s students while facilitating meaningful opportunities for involvement, engagement, leadership, and campus transformation which will be demonstrated by MCU’s vibrant student and campus life. The Coordinator will provide
vision and oversight of campus. co-curricular activities and events to include but not limited to: Student Affinity Groups (SAG) and welcome week.
Position Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Vice President of Student Success & Institutional Equity
Hours: 8 hours/week on average, with some weeks requiring more hours and other weeks requiring fewer hours
Salary/Rate: $22 per hour
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in midwifery, mental health, college leadership, or a related field
- Demonstrable excellence in equity, access, and social justice principles, initiatives, and programming
- At least two years of administrative or leadership experience
- Familiarity with direct-entry midwifery education/training routes and professional issues
- At least two years of experience in program and project management
- At least two years experience in and understanding of social support systems, trends, and opportunities
- At least three years experience in mental health and well-being counseling and service provision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (or equivalent) and Adobe
- Proficiency in digital communication and project management technologies, such as Dropbox, Google Drive, Zoom, and Canvas
- At least one year of experience working in a distance or telecommuting work environment
- Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- A master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in midwifery, mental health, college leadership, or related field
- Educational concentration (either entire degree, certificate, area of concentration, and/or minor) in social justice or related field
- At least one year of experience in student support services and student life programming in higher education
- Familiarity with best practices in student recruitment, advancement, retention, and completion for a diverse and representative student body
- At least two years of experience as a midwife with expertise in normal, physiologic birth in-home and/or freestanding birth center settings (certified professional midwife, certified nurse-midwife, other recognized form of midwifery credentialing, traditional midwife, or community midwife)
- Training or experience in working with and supporting historically marginalized communities and student populations
- Experience in managing scholarship and/or fellowship programs

Position Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the Director of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Opportunity and other appropriate administrative personnel to create and execute innovative equity and access strategies that support students
- Coordinate with the Director of Student Success & Advising to integrate student life support services and equity programming into academic advising, mentoring, and student mental health support
- Identify and facilitate opportunities to increase student engagement within MCU’s campus life, expand student leadership and advocacy development, support student clubs and organizations, help identify and support faculty/staff advisors, coordinate various campus wide programs and activities, and actively contributing to the expansion and transformation of the MCU student experience
- Design and implement student leadership programs to better equip students to be advocates for themselves and future clients
- Makes recommendations for MCU policies and practices that effectively enhance the student experience and student success
- Plan and implement major virtual campus events, with special emphasis to establishing and maintaining traditional events such as seasonal campus celebrations and festivities, as well as supporting major campus events (Commencement, Welcome Week, etc.)
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for outreach and engagement of the student body, specifically connecting students with student organizations and leadership opportunities
Other MCU Staff Responsibilities:
- Participate in professional development and mandatory training opportunities
- Attend monthly staff meetings
- Read and understand the Employee Handbook, and MCU’s Title IX and Drug and Alcohol Policies
