Dear Campers and Friends,

The Board of Directors for Flathead Lake Music Camp has met and discussed all possibilities regarding this year’s 2020 high school and middle school band/choir camps. It is with a heavy heart that we announce that the 2020 Flathead Lake Music Camps have been cancelled.

The safety of our students and staff members is always at the forefront of our minds. We have been in consultation with the Lake County Health Department, the governor’s office, and the Flathead United Methodist Camp board. We are limited in the number of students and staff members allowed on site, and this limited number makes holding camp financially impossible. We want camp to continue for years to come, and we would not be able to guarantee our longevity by hosting this year.

We love every camper who attends Flathead Lake Music Camp, and it was our sincere hope that we would be able to offer an in-person camp experience this year. We recognize that music is meant to be made together, and that the human psyche needs in-person contact. As cool as virtual bands and choirs can seem, they do nothing to replace the in-person experience that music-making provides. When registration opens for next summer there will be a financial incentive to those campers who registered for the 2020 camps. Please stay tuned as we will be emailing information about that incentive in the fall.

All camper tuition and fees paid thus far will be refunded. We will be working hard this week processing those refunds. If you do not receive a refund from us by June 1st, please contact us at flatheadlakemusiccamp@gmail.com.

The staff members of FLMC have a saying, which we put up in our staff cabin every summer… “Every year is different; every year is special.” This year is certainly different, we hope you find ways to make it special. We love you and hope to see you soon.

 Sincerely,

Flathead Lake Music Camp Board of Directors
