Wait With Expectation- Isaiah 40:28-31
Isaiah 40:28-31 THV Version
By Lance Howard
28) Have you not understood? Are you yet to recognize? Have you not, with careful consideration, heard that the Ever-Existing, Timeless, Creative, Intelligent One, The Magnificent “I AM”, Sculptor of the very edges and extremities of material existence, does not get hungry, nor tired? The Omniscient-Omnipresent-Omnipotent, doesn’t have to search or investigate in order to know an answer, or to come to a conclusion.
29) The One gives increased Life Energy to those who are fatigued, and multiplies power to those who have lost the true wealth of faculty and the ability to live functionally.
30) Even young people grow hungry for what brings purpose to their lives and tire from the confusions, worries, and troubles of this world. Even the chosen ones and young warriors experience hardship and seductions that cause them to stumble and fall.
31) But those who, expectantly wait on The Original One True Self, The I AM, with firm patience, binding themselves to the process and the result, ready to seize the gift, will swiftly transition into new strength. They will revive with true wealth, a new vigor, renewed ability, and flourishing Life Energy. They will increase in power and, like eagles, will rise up, soaring on wings, striving upward with great flowing ease, surpassing depressed struggles, ignoble thoughts and actions. They will live without wearing out physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Common Translation of Isaiah 40:28-31
28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
31 But they that waitupon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. - Isaiah 40:28-31 (KJV)
This is a beautiful passage that essentially points out how The Great I AM always desires to share an increasing flow of Life Energy with all who will expectantly focus on The Sacred Source. As the Apostle Paul stated, ”For in Him we live, breathe, and exist….” (Acts 17:28). The Love is real, available, powerful, and life-changing.
It is my contention that everytime the biblical scriptures mention “wait” or “be still” it is encouraging the ancient technology of intention and concentration- a devoted and focused practice of inner-breath awareness that is linked to the “Beginning” and the “End”, “heaven” and “earth”. Today, religion calls this ancient technology “prayer” but is lacking the understanding of what it truly is and how it works.
Waiting with expectation is healthy ONLY when it is upon The Great I Am. One waits to capture the gift that will come in the flash of a moment and in the stillness of Simple Presence. Waiting becomes egoic in nature when the waiting is upon other people and outer circumstances because it is a way of seeking, expecting, putting faith, and hope in things which are unstable and inconsistent. The “I AM” Always Is- dependable and true.
Verse 31- If “...those who, expectantly wait on The Original One True Self, The I AM”, receive such an amazing gift, it is clear that waiting with expectation is the path to receiving. This, expectant waiting is the foundation and meaning of “faith” (Hebrews 11).
In modern times we endeavor to achieve many things but what should be noticed about eagles is they soar- easily and effortlessly. Nothing in our experience has to be difficult, even learning how to “soar”. From Genesis to Revelation, the ancient Hebrew scriptures report, over and over again, that we are more than we realize. Life is designed to lead you to pure enjoyment even in the midst of struggle.
