Wait Upon the Lord: Isaiah 40:28-31

Wait Upon the Lord

28 Hast thou not known[1]? hast thou not heard[2], that the everlasting[3] God, the Lord, the Creator[4] of the ends[5] of the earth[6], fainteth not[7], neither is weary? there is no searching[8] of his understanding[9].

29 He giveth power[10] to the faint[11]; and to them that have no might[12] he increaseth[13] strength[14]. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men[15] shall utterly[16] fall:

31 But they that wait[17]upon the Lord shall renew[18] their strength[19]; they shall mount up[20] with wings[21] as eagles; they shall run[22], and not be weary[23]; and they shall walk[24], and not faint[25]. - Isaiah 40:28-31 (KJV)

Isaiah 40:28-31 THV Version

28) Have you not understood? Are you yet to recognize? Have you not, with careful consideration, heard that the Ever-Existing, Timeless, and Creative Intelligent One, The Magnificent “I AM”, Sculptor of the very edges and extremities of material existence, does not get hungry, nor tired? The Omniscient-Omnipresent-Omnipotent, doesn’t have to search or investigate in order to know the/an answer, or to come to a conclusion.

29) The One gives increased Life Energy (power, energy, strength) to those who are fatigued and multiplies power to those who have lost the true wealth of faculty and ability to live functionally.

30) Even young people grow hungry for what brings purpose to their lives and tire from the confusions, worries and troubles of this world. Even the chosen young warriors experience hardship and seductions that cause them to stumble and fail.

31) But those who, expectantly wait on The Original One True Self, with firm attitude, binding their self to the process and the result, will swiftly transition into new strength. They will revive with true wealth, a new vigor, renewed ability and flourishing Life Force. They will increase in power and, like eagles, they will rise up, soaring on wings, striving upward with great energy, surpassing depressed struggles and ignoble ways. They will efficiently complete the task and purpose laid out for them without grumbling or complaining of the labor and exhaustion. They will live without wearing out physically, mentally, and emotionally.

THV Commentary

This is a beautiful passage that essentially points out not only how powerful The Mighty One is but also that The Great “I Am”, has desired, does desire, and always will desire to share increasing Life Force with all who will expectantly focus on The Divine Source, “God”. As the Apostle Paul stated,”For in Him we live, breathe, and exist….” (Acts 17:28). The love is real and available

It is my contention that everytime the biblical scriptures mention “wait” or “be still” it is encouraging the technology of prayer and meditation- a devoted and focused practice of inner-breath awareness that is linked to the “Beginning” and the “End”, “heaven” and “earth”.

What is true of the inner and outer personal world, naturally applies to that of the communal world.
