Dress up in seasonal clothing. Pretend to have a snowball fight/picnic/or jump in the leaves. |
Math | Make a weather graph for the week. How many days were sunny? How many days were rainy? Why didn’t it snow? Make a sunshine pattern. Copy or extend the pattern of the sun’s rays. Roll a dice and cover the number on the rain drops to practice numbers 1-6! |
Science/Social Studies | Follow along to the “Four Seasons Song.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iisj2kTZIFs ·Windy Weather Catch Blow a light object (scarf, tissue, etc) into the air with a blow drier and then have your children catch them. -Which objects were easiest to keep in the air? Discuss which were light and heavy. ·Blowing Water Races Put a piece of wax paper on your table (tape it down) Then put a couple of drops of water on the paper (add food coloring to make it colorful)! Let your children use straws to blow the water around the paper. You can also make a start and finish line and have your children have water blowing races. Was it fastest to go in a straight line from start to finish? Combine all ingredients together in a bowl. Practice squishing it, hiding small objects in it, roll it out and with child scissors cut it into small pieces, use cookie cutters to make shapes.
