Friends of the Hot Springs City Library

July 22, 2024

Meeting was called to order at 3:05 pm by George.

Present:  Peggy Heinselman, Francis Raynor, George Parsons, Josh Davis and Starla Rice acting as secretary were present.  

Starla read the minutes from the June 3, 2024 meeting. George entertained a motion to approve the minutes.  George moved that the June 3, 2024 minutes be approved.  Josh seconded that motion.  All members present approved.

Treasurers Report:  Beginning balance was 5088.70 deposits were $776.00 Fund Raiser, $35.00 Settlers & Sodbusters.  Debits were $197.88 Tables.  Balance is $5701.82.   Discussion:  Josh motioned that the treasurer’s report be approved.  Francis seconded that motion.  All members present approved.  

Old Business: The Fund Raiser brought $776.00.

New Business: The director requested that the Friends of the Library purchase 20 copies of Settlers & Sodbusters from the Printery for $25 per copy coming out at $500. Peg moved that the Friends purchase 20 copies of Settlers & Sodbusters at $25 per copy. George seconded that motion. All members present approved.

The director requested the purchase of a banner with grommets for Books in Search of Kids $55 estimate with some leeway for some art on the banner. Josh moved that the director purchase a banner from the Printery. Francis seconded that motion. All members present approved.

George suggested that at the next meeting we bring our fund raising ideas.

Starla presented $70 for Settlers & Sodbusters and $46.00 from Patron Orders. George presented $50.00 for the sale of chairs.

The next meeting will be August 26,2024.

George entertained a motion that the meeting be adjourned at 3:57 pm.  Francis moved that the meeting be adjourned.  Josh seconded that motion.  All members present approved.
