Computer Science Project Grade Guidelines

Computer science projects will be graded using the following rubric. Students will not have the same level of coding competency so it is expected that the final products will vary in the amount of complexity added.

Automatic Deductions

-10: Comments not added to code. (All functions or methods should be preceded with comments. Comments may also be used to describe uses of variables and other abstractions.)

-30: Code does not run. (make sure you test it!)

-10: Code runs but produces an error.

-5: Late

Grades (Adjusted for 2023-2024)

95: Shows creativity, components added outside of what was originally presented. Shows complexity. User interface enhanced significantly.

90: Shows creativity, more than one component added, shows adequate complexity. User interface enhanced.

85: Shows creativity, at least one component added. User interface enhanced.
