General Information:

Section 1: Basic FAQs

Q1. Where can I find the Academic Calendar?

The Academic Calendar is available on the official IIT Hyderabad website through the link provided above.

Q2. What is Financial Registration?

Financial Registration refers to the payment of semester fees through the Institute’s online payment portal. Completion of financial registration is mandatory for confirming admission and subsequent academic registration.

Q3. Where can I find the Fee Structure?

The fee structure is available on the IIT Hyderabad website under the Academics section, the link provided above.

Important Information Regarding Fee Payment

Students must mandatorily upload all required scanned documents of originals only ( No images are allowed) through the AIMS portal before reporting to the campus for physical document verification.

Section 2: Document Verification and Reporting

Physical document verification scheduled as under:

PG: 21st July for MSc, MDes, MA & 22nd July for M.Tech ( Students are required to report to the campus in person for physical document verification)

Venue: Will be informed

Important Instructions

1.      Students must produce all original documents for verification.

2.      Any pending documents must be submitted on or before 30 September 2026.

3.      No extension beyond the prescribed deadline will be granted.

4.  Hostel accommodation will be allotted on the same day after successful completion of document verification.

5.    Students whose parents or guardians accompany them are requested to make their own accommodation arrangements. Guest house may be booked based on availability (office.gh@iith.ac.in)

6.  All forms shared along with the admission offer letter should be duly filled, signed, scanned, and kept ready for upload to the AIMS portal.

7.   Further instructions, if any, will be communicated through email and the Institute website. Kindly regularly check the FAQ document for further updates.

Section 3: AIMS Registration

Students are required to complete their registration through the Academic Information Management System (AIMS):  AIMS Login Page

Steps for Registration: AIMS Guidelines

1.      Login to the AIMS portal using the credentials provided by the Institute.

2.      Complete all personal and academic profile details. (Name to be entered as per SSC/class X certificate)

3.      Upload all required supporting documents.

4.      Verify the uploaded information.

5.  Complete academic registration and course registration as instructed by the concerned department.

Important Eligibility Requirement

IIT Hyderabad policy is very clear on this, a student should have cleared all his degree requirements before joining for the program, including:

If the above is not feasible for the students, he/she should refrain from accepting the offer and no extension after 30th September  2026 will be given for document submission.

In case the provisional certificate has not yet been issued by the university, applicants may submit a Course Completion Certificate duly signed by the Principal, Director, or Controller of Examinations. In case a provisional certificate has not been issued and the applicant submits course completion certificate He/ She has to submit a provisional certificate/ Degree certificate by 30 September 2026.

Section 4: Documents Required for Verification

The below documents (in original) are required to verify and confirm your admission at IITH. Kindly upload clear scanned copies of all required original documents. Photographs captured using mobile phones will not be accepted for verification purposes.

(*) The student has to furnish an undertaking as per the format on the Anti ragging portal and the reference number of the same has to be filled in the student profile in the given column on AIMS:

Admission to IIT Hyderabad is provisional and subject to verification of eligibility criteria and original documents.

Applicants are advised to regularly monitor their registered email address and visit the Institute website for updates and announcements.

Section 9: Online Programs

Q. Who should sign the NOC and when should it be submitted?
The NOC should be signed by the candidate’s HR authority or Reporting Manager on official letterhead. It must be uploaded to the AIMS portal along with all required documents before the start of the semester, without fail.

Q. What is the format of NOC

Q. What if the student is self-employed or a freelancer? What if the student is currently not employed but has two years of prior work experience?
Self-employed candidates or freelancers may submit the firm’s registration document as proof of experience. Candidates who are currently not employed may submit their previous relieving letter as proof of work experience.

Q. How should the forms be submitted? Is a physical copy required, or will a scanned copy suffice? If scanned, where should it be submitted?
Only online applications submitted through the designated portal are accepted. No physical copies are required to be submitted or posted. 

Q. Does the candidate need to visit the campus on the day of registration?
Online students are required to visit the campus once during the tenure of the degree for certificate verification. Until this verification is completed, the admission will remain provisional.

Q. Will the orientation for online students and regular students be conducted together?
A separate orientation for online students will be conducted in online mode by the Academic Section before the start of the semester.

Q: What is the semester tuition fee? In the first semester, students take 6 credits, so how is the total fee calculated? Also, when do students need to pay the tuition fee (full semester fee)?

Illustration: If the fee is Rs 25000 per credit then the fee will be Rs 25000 X 6=Rs1,50,000/-+ 15,000 (semester fee).  Total Fee: Rs 1,65,000/-

When to pay the final fee: you will receive communication from the Academic section.

And the final fee for the 1st semester will be calculated after deducting the seat acceptance fee of Rs. 50,000/- which is paid immediately on accepting the offer.

Q. How do I pay the balance fee (after payment of the seat acceptance fee)?
For online students only, the balance fee is payable after course registration. The Academic Section will intimate you regarding the payment of the balance fee.  

Q. Is there any separate refund policy for online students?
There is no separate refund policy for online students. Any refund will be made in November 2026

Q. Are online students allowed to participate in placements?
No, online students are not eligible to participate in campus placements.
