Role Description
CIST is seeking a dedicated and motivated Secondary Mathematics Teacher to teach secondary students following the Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics curriculum. This position is ideal for a junior teacher eager to learn and grow in an international school environment. The successful candidate will receive support and training to develop their teaching skills and expertise.
Reporting to: Head of Secondary School
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master’s is a plus).
- Teaching certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Passion for mathematics education and a strong willingness to learn and grow.
- Fluency in English (as it is the primary language of instruction).
- Previous experience teaching IGCSE Mathematics is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong classroom management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Teach & Deliver Curriculum: Plan and deliver engaging IGCSE Mathematics lessons to students, ensuring conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills.
- Student Support & Assessment: Monitor student progress, provide feedback, and prepare students for IGCSE examinations through structured lessons, practice tests, and revision strategies.
- Classroom Management & Engagement: Foster a positive, inclusive, and interactive learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
- Professional Growth: Participate in training, mentorship, and professional development to enhance teaching skills and subject expertise.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with colleagues and school leadership to align instruction with academic goals and maintain open communication with parents.
