Discussions ensued on a variety of topics

We have a NEW Neighborhood Police Officer Cole Larson.  He will be joining us at some future meeting.  We look forward to meeting him.

City will provide us a liaison - we haven’t been informed who it will be yet, but that person will attend our meetings.  Good time to ask any city related questions.

Traffic/Parking/ and Recreational Vehicles parked up by apartments were discussed. Carrie contacted the HART (City committee on Homelessness) regarding the motorhomes  - Haven’t heard anything back yet.

Discussion on the Traffic Calming Program which we applied for for 70th St.  We won’t hear anything until probably Oct.  We discussed that possibly in the future we could seek out how to paint the streets with either speed limit or some kind of design to help slow cars down.

A question was asked regarding painting the curbs in front of mailboxes:  Sydney responded for the HOA board and explained that she met with the city and we are not allowed to do so.

A question was asked regarding making improvements in the park in regards to more playground or benches.  It was explained that our park is HOA owned and is NOT a city park.  Some parks that people compared ours to are actually owned by the city and are funded through the city. Ours is not.  We would like to do some improvements but it does take money and being a brand new Neighborhood Association we are just establishing ourselves but would like to look into this in the future.

A question was asked regarding landscaping and weeding.  HOA explained that our landscaping services are bare minimum and are the most least expensive they’ve found.  They do broadleaf spray for weeds, but they do not dig weeds out.  Sydney encouraged anyone who has concerns of work not being done or issues to report it on Townsquare.

We had our ribbon cutting ceremony opening the new Little Library which was installed in the park.  This was partially funded by a Neighborhood grant, and donations are greatly appreciated to help offset the balance. Photos were taken.

Meeting was Adjourned at 10:55 AM
